Speculation: Roster Building Thread : Part XVI (Playoffs or Retool?)

Like all Trouba’s big bombs
I do not think of Trouba as being the kind of PP pointman with a booming accurate shot I was referring to in my post. I'm talking about guys like Chara, Pronger, Al Macinnis, Ray Bourque, Doug Wilson, Shea Webber, etc. I think the difference in their shooting ability is significant.

VAN has a scout at NJ/PHI tonight.

Friedman yesterday was continuing to emphasize VAN was willing to do Chytil, 1st, and Prospect for JTM but that was the lowest they would go.

Lindgren, future conditional 1st, prospect for Clarke.
shoe on the other foot, do you do that?

Shesty, Tro, Othmann, Vaak, Jones + 2026 1st
for
Byfield, Helenius, Gavrikov, Clarke and Dvorak

break that into as many smaller deals as you like

LA gets Vez level elite G solution long term
their pivot depth is ridiculous and while they would have to start on a Kopitar replacement, they can actually get by short term + Tro and his FO winning = a great #2
Othmann = good W prospect close enuf to ready
Vaak + Jones = stopgaps

Rs get By-guy for pivot
also Helenius 4th line pivot move Carrick up
Gav = 1LD pair w/Fox until I move Fox for a package including Kleven
Clarke = RD stud
Dvorak = 1st round LD pick, good prospect

our G = quick + Garand reinforced by Dominque
D = Gav - Fox, KAM - Schneider, Borgen - Clarke
Dvorak marinating

deal Smith, Vesey, Lindgren asap
dump mika first chance
bread see if I can get a good sell high on him half retained, keep til then

Kreider [eventually healed, stopgap Groulx] - Byfield - Carrick
LaF - Chytil - bread
Edstrom - Helenius - Rempe
Kaliyev- Brodz - Berard

funny enough, Chytil is the only guy with jump and pace on the team. We would trade him and keep our plodding vet$

I no longer want JTM or any other player until the fat/dead weight is cut.

PHI is a potential landing spot for Pettersson btw.

NJD would have to move a ton of shit around for Miller and one of the NMC guys who can basically just tell them to F off.

Fox was more effective at finding ice in the past because teams treated Lindgren like a credible threat at the NHL level.

He's getting the Ben Simmons treatment now. Help is coming off of Lindgren to double team Fox before Fox even beats the first man.
I think it's more likely that the Jensen hit slowed his quick twitch neck muscles down. He can't make head fakes anymore, not like he used to. Not to mention his grip strength is so severely diminished that he can't tie his skates tightly enough anymore and so his balance is shot, and acceleration is gone. Sad really.

It is very strange. He never had a booming point shot but he did score his share. Now it seems unlikely he will score. What happened?

Would be nice to have a crazy scary slapshot on our PP. The kind that is a real weapon but there aren't many nowadays (none on our team).
What happened? Kreider no longer stands in front of the net during the PP. He used to tip a lot of Fox’s shots, but he also missed his fair share, and some of those would end up as a Fox goal. Plus he would also screen the goalie. Those were the days.
