Drury asleep at the wheel again
As I said it depends on the return. Just because Schneider was benched for two whole periods during his LD stint, if that’s the case, doesn’t mean he can’t play it just fine if given the time to acclimate.Basically what he is saying is that it makes sense to trade Schneider for a left handed Schneider. Just because he played LD for 4 games doesn’t mean he can play it consistently for a SC contender over the course of a season. In fact if I remember correctly, he was benched for 2 periods during his LD stint, though I’m not sure about that part.
We can just sign that upgrade and keep Schneider thoughYeah if they keep Borgen then it makes sense to use Schneider or Mancini to upgrade at LD or another position. Probably easier to make a move like that in the summer, but if they could get a top 4 LD now to pair with Fox long term they should do it.
I like Schneider, but if Miller-Borgen can be a reliable second pair, then it probably makes sense to trade Schneider while his value is still high, rather than when he’s looked at as a bottom pairing D. To your point, try to trade him in a package for a slightly better LD given position value. Resign Borgen and Miller and have a D going forward of:
LD upgrade-Fox
Miller-Borgen
Vaas-Mancini
This is bullshit. D is clearly better. Though yesterday was not an example of it. Goaltending is also better but it's not all goaltending. Rangers fans literally can never be happy. Need to be f***ing miserable all of the f***ing time.
Vancouver putting out there to their media now that JT Miller wants a trade. No way that is Miller's camp. There were reports recently that Miller had asked them to not let this linger and he is good with moving on, but was fine putting on a front to the media (as in not putting anything out there at all and letting Vancouver front office do their thing).
Vancouver reeks of desperation.
They don't want to retain, and they don't want to risk decreased ticket sales.
sanderson: not saying we should try for him; they willl not consider even reasonable overpay. There isn't a universe that Sanderson is moved. Ottawa couldn't wait to lock him up for as long as possible. He's the #1.
You have to look for a blueline that's a little overcrowded or non-diverse. Also teams in some flux, which there are many. I wouldn't be against dipping in the Seattle pool again if they continue to stink. Or Anaheim for that matter. They've got LaCombe, Zellweger and Mintkutov on the left side, would they move one of them?
I think if I were really going "all-in" on contending in the near future, my #1 target would be Weeger in Calgary. If you could get him for a package of like Lindgren, Othmann/Emery, and a first I'd do that without a doubt.
laugh all you wantlmao
NOJT 50% retained for Chytil and a 3rd. Get it done drury.
"Trade the first+Othmann or whatever."I’m at the point where if we do trade for Miller, might as well do it for futures rather than trade a big part of your team in Chytil. Trade the first+Othmann or whatever. Then you can trade Kreider and Zibanejad closer to the deadline or in the offseason. I’m still not in love with trading for him but if they are going to do it I’d rather them do that.
And hence, despite some improvement returning to the land or the living, we need to dump him asapThe more digging I have done in to Miller the player and the way his contract would fit in, along with the cap projections moving forward, I have kind of turned the corner on his fit here. At first glance, I thought $8m was too steep for him but as I really thought forward I think it may actually be a decent deal.
Also as I looked around at other players who have hovered around his type of point totals at this stage in their careers, especially when they have done so for multiple years in a row, they tend to age more gracefully than I was giving them credit for. People compare him to Zibanejad but Mika clearly is having concerns with engaging in battles. Miller doesn't have the same concern. I could see him generally aging like Kopitar or Benn. Both very effective players still
Mika does not want vanI would not move Chytil in the JT deal unless the team is 100% convinced his health issues are going to reach a bad conclusion in the future. I may be crazy but I think Mika plus two picks (not a 1st) is a fair offer if JT says Rangers.
we are too thin to move Chytil for jtm unless no other options, and imo there areI don't think Vancouver wants Mika
I dunno about the Rangers but I'm convinced Chytil's health issues are not behind him. even if he doesn't have another "misses and entire season" I think he's always gonna get hurt and miss a chunk and then take weeks to get back to playing at the level he was at before injury.
no need to overpayid be way on-board if it was Othmann, Lindgren and a 1st or something. i really want to hold onto Chytil. i think Chytil and Miller would actually be good together on a line.
not at all do not want d'angeloDrury asleep at the wheel again
they should deal EP + for /Dobson +Vancouver putting out there to their media now that JT Miller wants a trade. No way that is Miller's camp. Vancouver needs to suck it up and move Miller. The team is stuck in limbo and won't play better until after the trade happens. It feels similar to the Rangers with Trouba and Kakko. Too much noise and negativity hurts the vibe in the room.
I see this Mika does not want Van line often. He probably wants to stay put if possible but I'm more willing to accept the Mika does not want Van line if someone shows me Mika or his agent saying it.Mika does not want van
also if he would waive, then just give him away 50% retained for small chang

Probably but thats probably more about Van wanting a better deal than Mika refusing to go imo.I think if that deal was an option, it would be done.
The Canucks ownership/management is what our fans think the Rangers are. Completely inept to the point that they can't give away either of their top 2 Cs. meanwhile Drury traded one of the the worst D contracts in the league with 0 retention for a better defenseman with team control and a draft pick.
I think a lot of this has to do with Mika and family not wanting to be an extra 6 hours further from SwedenProbably but thats probably more about Van wanting a better deal than Mika refusing to go imo.
It's amazing how bad Trouba was that a no frills #6 defenseman is better than him.
i mean the average islanders fan will likely revere this clownWill ADA result in MORE fans at Islander games or LESS?
im honestly shocked the canucks have held on for so long. rutherford is like a a kid in a candy store w trade
i’d be shocked if they even got chytil at this point. starting to look like a package of lindgren, mid prospect and a first w protections would be a blessing for vancouver. regardless of whether or mot you want miller drury has played this insanely wellWould be hilarious if their moron owner listened to another moron in Bissonnette who told him not to trade JT for Chytil. The Canucks would be lucky at this point to get a player of Chytil's caliber for Miller. there's a 0% chance the rangers would be open to moving him if not for the long term injury concerns.
My problem with Maata (besides his health which is a concern in itself) is that I don't see him as a good option for 1LD - he'd be a good depth option, I guess, but that's not where the exposure is (and please let's not use this via comparison to Lindgren)I'm sorry to who brought up Maata (I don't have time to find the initial source) but that's a great idea for a low-key, pretty good top-4 mobile LD. He has never put up a ton of points as he was projected to but his skating and ability to move the puck effectively are still there. My concern with him is his health as the last time he played 82 games was in 17-18 but if would take something reasonable, say $3.5m per season, I could see that being a very effective piece, like Borgen is, who could help make that left side more effective.
I could see Van coming back and asking for the same package. Remove the 1st or change it to a lower round and make the deal.Would be hilarious if their moron owner listened to another moron in Bissonnette who told him not to trade JT for Chytil.
