Rinaldo to NSH, Lavs wanted him back.

Think he would have been a good add if we were serious about becoming tougher to play against.

Lol do leafs fans really have to make posts like this on other team’s boards?

Where are you getting this, because I don’t see anyone credible saying this. He hasn’t signed yet.
I’m a ranger fan bozo, got this from James mirtle MD JOSHUA MARSHALLTWITTER

I do not support too many high-priced players to join this situation. EK is a clear exception. Not only is he a world-class talent, he probably meshes very nicely with Henrik, Zucc, and a handful of others that are over the age of 24. That chemistry is important - for this year, and beyond.

Further, you cannot win in the NHL without elite talent and it rarely becomes available. If you have an opportunity to acquire such talent you should do it.

Also, how is it possible that Stamkos and Tavares have become available and the Rangers were MIA from pursuing both?

JT leaving the Isles sets them back big time.

I do wonder if he’ll wait several hours into UFAgency or a full day to see if any team comes in with a monster contract offer other than the 6 teams he’s been talking with this past week.

Would have liked to see Tavares go back to the Isles. No particular reason but when I’ve got “no horse in the race” I go for the underdog.

Toronto suits me just fine, will be an anchor for many years...
In realpolitik terms it’s fine. Toronto is behaving like the Rangers used to behave. Writing checks they can’t cover. But from a sports fan/old man perspective, I just wish the runny-nosed runt would win one, sometimes. I’m a Mets fan...

The Rangers weren't invited to meet with either player. They didn't want to play in New York for the Rangers. The Rangers weren't MIA.

Stamkos was never available.

JVR went back to the Flyers. They were not mentioned much as a team looking for a winger. Do they move Simmonds? The Bruins wanted JVR. The Bruins wanted Kovalchuk. The Bruins wanted to re-sign Nash. He may retire. Montreal isn't trading Pacioretty to Boston. Skinner? He has control of his destination. I read he turned down a trade or two. The Blues? He might want an extension in exchange for waiving his NMC. Neal as a free agent? They aren't bringing Kessel back. The Bruins want to add another winger. Are the Rangers and Boston a match for another trade?

The Rangers need to do nothing for the next couple of years. No stupid trades or free agent signings. I know that's too hard for fans and the media to accept. Do nothing. Just keep trading off players for younger assets. Those young players will develop and mature over the course of the next two seasons. That's the only way to do it.

If they sign Gryba or Fayne to be the 7th it better be a 2 way or dirt cheap 1 way they can bury like Lack did in NJ.

Kampfer going down Likely if so

I like JVR and think the contract will be ok, not great but ok. The cap goes up, he's a leader, some good passers on that team.

What I find hilarious is the flyers having the growing pains phase and UFA overpayment phase with JVR without the prime production years. Must have been worth it for Luke Schenn. Almost makes Kovalev hurt less.

I never thought JT was likely to re-sign, but I don't think the isles are out today. Is he waiting because he is conflicted, or is he bidding up his contract? If he's conflicted, the longer the better for Long Island. The poster chatter believed SJ has a 7 x $13m offer out there. I would love to see the isles top that.

When Barzal outproduces him every single year, what does he demand on his next deal? They need to drop assets on a goalie and a defense, the cupboard will be bare in a season just getting the isles in the contention conversation.
