Maybe I'm naive but I don't think Dolan particularly cares about the Rangers. His cash cow is the Knicks and they're doing well, all things considered. I never got the sense that Dolan really cares about the Rangers. It's just another asset to him.

The fact that he would leave an incompetent nincompoop like Chris Drury to do whatever he sees fit shows that Dolan has a REALLY hands-off approach to the point of apathy.

It's like he forgot he has a hockey team. It's unacceptable that this guy is at the helm....

For Kreider and Zib- maybe. I've been being told for 4 months that my desire to move Zibby is a pipe dream. Kreider for all we know will be a LTIR guy next season while his back heals for the playoffs. Lots of moving parts.

Borg/KAM is possibly on a hot steak. Whether they can become a functional 2nd pairing is a valid question, but still very much a question. And as I say a lot and many others here have the same idea- Borgen should be starting on the 3rd pairing if the goal is to have a cup competing roster. We really need a 25 minute guy on the left side to push everyone else besides Fox down a slot.

IDK how the Rangers would turn Lindgren into something better without adding a substantial asset. I als othink NYR would have to make the kind of mega-deal they're currently looking at for Miller for a 1D instead. We don't really have the assets for both. A Yandle type move helps us a lot.

I respect your perspective but I think you're reading too much into an improved stretch of play from the D which may be an streak, not a trend, or at the very least a combination of the two.

Vaak and Lindgren are both 7th defensemen in the regular rotation. We HAVE to fix that. And that's before we talk about getting the power play back to where it needs to be- which is 27%+ for this team to be competitive. Right now we are 18%, bottom 10 in the league.

They still have a heavy lift on defense. I think they sign Borgen to a fair number. He and KAM make a solid 2nd pairs and eventually Schneider passes him. We do need that 25 minute guy to play with Fox. I think Drury is after that as well. I appreciate the moves being made in-season by the team. There is not a single good reason for them to wait on any of these needed moves. If the plan is to get JT with Trouba's vacant cap space, and then flip spare parts like Chytil/Lindgren, maybe (Othmann or Berard) if the upgrade is big enough, for a real partner for Fox.

And not for nothing, but Drury has done what a lot of people wanted him to do. He got Goodrow and Trouba, the universally accepted biggest issues for years, off the team. It was like ripping teeth but it's seems like we are through it onto the other side and we're very much in the race.

Walman all day. Less physical but better passing version of Borgen. Signed next year to a good deal.

Walman is going for a first imo. Why the hell did detroit trade him for nothing? Makes me think something behind the scenes?

Dolan is much more of a hoops fan but he does care about the NYR imo. He is actually a decent hockey owner. Signs the checks but rarely interferes. He did step in to get rid of Gorton after the Wilson incident. Crazy that we are even softer now in some ways.

I hope Kakko becomes a superstar, I hope Perreault refuses to sign. f*** this f***ing team. Theyve completely broken me with their dumb f***ing decisions. absolutely done with them.

As I said this week the JT stuff feels Rick Nash, MSL, Patty Kane esque. It seems inevitable. Curious to see how it plays out, but the Rangers need to keep this hot streak going. If Drury makes a bad trade it's completely on him. Canucks are desperate, JT wants to be here and the Rangers are finally playing well again.

Chytil, Mancini, Sykora, Chmelar, Rangers 1st (lottery protected unless they win the Cup) for JT and Boeser (50% RETAINED)

Thats my final offer.

messier was a locker room

they have to be honest with their situation imo.

Are they in a position to self rent?
Columbus is not selling. Especially to a team they are competing for a playoff spot with. Maybe if they crater between now and the deadline, but not with them overachieving and everyone in their corner after what happened in the offseason. They might be buyers

Columbus is playing for Johnny Hockey. I am really pulling for them. If they can get consistent goaltending they are as talented as anyone. I like their leadership group more than teams like Detroit & Buffalo

If JT was younger or the team was built differently I would but at this point I wouldn't include first round picks for many guys over 30.

I'm just that afraid of Zibanejad's contract. Replacing him with a better player on a cheaper contract, who can actually be moved or bought out if he starts floundering, would be pretty huge.

That said, it's probably moot anyway, because Zibanejad's contract is completely immoveable. He basically has to be begged to accept a trade, or put on LTIR forever.

I think it’s more likely Zibanejad is dealt for an equivalent bad contract. I said earlier in the week I could squint and see Zibanejad for Seth Jones. If Schneider is getting dealt, I definitely can see that. Especially if Miller is coming back

maybe it's time to try Schneider with Fox

They really should do this for the rest of the year to see what they have in Schneider. It’s been a merry go round of partners in his 4 years here, with every player taking the heat for how poor the pair wound up being.

He’s obviously coveted around the league, and the Rangers like him, but at some point you have to see something besides potential.

Also, Ryan Lindgren is a disaster so this doesn’t even seem like some big risk to try, while also seeing what the Fox Schneider pair looks like.

Yeah, I'd agree that that value makes more sense. Though, there is likely an even lesser chance that Zib would waive to go to Chicago.

I have no doubt in my mind he will become a monster on another team if traded
