I’ve been so scared to throw this one out there, so thank you for being the one to post itIf they wanted to just do bad contact for bad contract, there is a cursed Zibanejad for Seth Jones swap.

Honest question. What makes you think that?
Since the x-mas break and up until last nights game Mika was among the best if not the best player on the team and the stats back that up. So what gives?
mother of godIf they wanted to just do bad contact for bad contract, there is a cursed Zibanejad for Seth Jones swap.
All well and good but you didnt answer my question. The Zibanejad I remember from a couple years ago could bring the puck up the ice with speed and drive defenders back or turn them. He would get to the front of the net and was a goal scoring threat in all situations. He was one of our most aware and best defensive forwards and arguably our best forward. He didn't make defensive gaffes or soft plays. He wasn't a super physical player but he wasn't shy either and these things all have gotten worse....some of them noticeably worse this season. His 5v5 scoring disappeared last year and we're still waiting for it to reappear. His defensive play this year has been terrible and we've lost multiple games because of soft plays he made......though K'Andre could be pointed out for that too. Last night was another not so very good game. He's -25 and nobody else is even close to that.
I've seen players rebound from inexplicably bad seasons before but his 5V5 goal scoring having gone dry for 2 years now I find pretty concerning. It's not like he's not gotten opportunity---top 6 ice time, power play. I think he's a main reason why we've dropped so much this year and are on the outside looking in.
Both teams would probably hate it, which is a good sign its probably fairI’ve been so scared to throw this one out there, so thank you for being the one to post it
The leading scorer on a Cup-winning team was a non-factor?I dont get the love for Eichel and wanting him here yesterday. The guy was a non factor on Vegas cup run. He went goalless for the last 11 games of that run.
He would have been killed for that performance if he were a Ranger.
We bash our players for not scoring enough despite them producing otherwise. The leading scorer on a Cup-winning team was a non-factor?
I think it’s silly to plan on trying to sign Eichel if he hits UFA, McDavid too, for numerous reasons, but your comment is just not true.
JT Miller has been atrocious all season. He makes bad reads defensively 4-5 times per game, which directly lead to goals against. Last night's example was just one of many that have occurred all year. This version of JT Miller would fit right in with Panarin and Lafreniere, who at times seem to think playing defense is optional.
wrong, and eye test says his soft def has cost usHonest question. What makes you think that?

full concurI'm not a big plus/minus guy because it includes up to 11 other players. With that said when 1 player (Zibs) is so much worse than the rest of the team including his own linemates it is alarming. Now if the team was a crazy minus and the player was in line with that per minute I could see it but the Zibs situation this year has not been good.

total bsAll well and good but you didnt answer my question.
Mika has shown improvement and his trajectory is positive while Kreider is the opposite. How come you have more faith in Kreider turning it around despite being older and apparently more injury prone on top of being outperformed by Mika?
I mean, it was clear as day for everyone that as soon as Mika got away from Kreider his game started to improve. Not even the most fervent Mika haters could deny that and many of them even admitted as much.
Edit: Just to clarify, I am not calling you a Mika hater.
total bs
Kreider has suffered trying to prob ub hapless mika
acid test: Kreider scores, his lines show energy, drive, etc
Mika useless on offense, and his worthless def costs us on every line
give it up
I don’t know what I’d do if we got to watch a player like McDavid every night. The leading scorer on a Cup-winning team was a non-factor?

He’d probably be good for a couple years. This might be true but last nights example was a terrible example.
If he’s dogging it there though that’s all the reason to stay away. That’s what he did on the way out of here and why he was moved to begin with.
Remember when every analytics guru on this site had wet dreams about this guy last year?
Ahem, **taps the sign below**
It amazes me that Kakko can step into a new org, with top minutes and PP time, immediately play the best hockey he has played at the NHL level…and people don’t want to admit something is rotten here.
That the NYR failure to draft productive offensive talent is somehow just “bad luck.” “Bad drafting” “Players needing a fresh start” “He wasn’t going to do that here”
I understand it may be more comforting to believe your favorite team is just cursed by some magical force, rather than woefully inept with a deeply ingrained disfunctional culture.
But at some point the cognitive dissonance has to be too much to ignore.
There's no scenario where I trade Schneider for Miller.
There are scenarios in which I trade Schneider.
This is FANTASTIC!
(If your only goal is to make the playoffs)
This isn't a contending team. And I don't think they have the pieces to make it a contending team.
Tear it down.
They can’t really tear it down. They can trade Lindgren and other spare parts for possibly late 2nd rounders sure. Igor Mika Kreider are not going anywhere. Panarin probably isnt either. This is FANTASTIC!

There is nothing rotten with the NYR organization and there's no reason to think so. People need to take a statistics class a local community college and talk with some stoners about probability.
Also, Mittlestadt has been a losing player most of his career, this is the least surprising outcome ever.
