Go down, work on the areas you've identified you need to be for best at highest level, and then come back a better player
Groulx deserves the call up and actually dressing for a game or two

I hope he plays enough games to be RFA. Could be underrated center depth which is needed here.
 
Berard doesn’t deserved get sent down but he’s been gassed recently imo and his play had dipped. He’ll be back. I wonder if they let him do 24 hours in Vegas with the boys?
 
Yeah this isn’t a major issue. Berard had some errors over the last few games and getting big minutes in the AHL will help him for a bit. Groulx has been really good for Hartford so it’s also about getting him an opportunity to show what he has. This also slides Brodzinski over to wing which is a good thing

Imo it's about our lack of center depth, i watched the game replay and the 3rd line was invisible last game without Chytil.
 
I said this the other day, but Groulx also needs 15 games to remain RFA this summer or else he becomes a Group 6 UFA. So even if he just gets a few games here, it makes it more plausible to hit that 15 games milestone towards the end of the season.

He has been really good for Hartford and is still relatively young and may have a little upside left in him at the NHL level, so it would be nice to be able to retain him with a QO.

That line was on a hiding to nothing though. Berard still finding his game at this level, a career 13th forward, and a guy in his first game for 3 months that is also his first game for a new club....

I think Drury likes Schneider too much to deal him for anything less than a massive win. So I think he stays.
And don’t sleep on Fortescue. I believe he’s a NYR in the 26-27 season.
 
The fact that no Panarin rumors have come up mean he hasn't expressed interest in being moved to a contender. He might be happy being in NYC.

It also could mean they haven't broached the idea to him or are not thinking that far out.

It makes me wonder if somehow Drury thinks they'll be a contender next season. I don't see a path.

If HF doesnt bring back Ignoring Threads then we should merge all the garbage OT threads into one. Ridiculous that 6 of the first 10 posts are all OT threads.

People care about "development" selectively. This seems like a good move for his development. Play him with Othmann in Hartford.
 
Thought Berard was playing fairly well, though he has faded a bit. Top AHL time will be good for him, and it's better than getting pushed down in the lineup with Kreider working his way back.

Plus, with Chytil still getting back, having an extra center option isn't a bad thing.

If Chytil is out, then you have Trocheck, Zib, Brodzinski, Carrick, and Groulx who could play center, and I think Brodz is better on the wing.

Tavares in doomed to try to end the SC drought in Toronto. They have already peaked, and the band that he schemed to keep together will break up soon.

Might be just a clerical move? He didn’t dress tonight for the Pack.
