Whoever gets it should toss it back at him.Are they going to send Panarin out there for Blueshirts off our Backs?

The rising salary cap news didnt come until later and often teams arent making major trades for guys on longer term contracts mid-season.
If this forces us to go into a full rebuild sooner then it’s a blessing in DisguiseOperation Clean Break from Panarin, Mika and Kreider. Not lumping their shortcomings in together obviously but their stewardship of the locker room has been a disgrace to the crest this season. Better for all parties to move on.
Okay, but even so, why would a team use their cap space to acquire a declining Kreider?
To get him off the teamexactly so why would you trade him now
I think everyone is going to be surprised by how easy it is to move some of vets. This is a dumb league.
A) Drury listed him by name in the league memo saying players were available. Teams did not have a lot of cap space then so he probably would’ve had to take a contract back.
B) 100% drury overplayed his hand, tho we have no idea what Detroit was willing to give up for trouba might’ve been a similar deal or if we get a better player than uhro we prob were taking a contract back with it.
C) NHL gms almost always trade for a what a guy has done not just what he’s done lately. I’m sure some team will look at his past few years and think this season was a blip especially with all the drama surrounding the team. Sure maybe you won’t get a 1st and a top prospect like a few years ago but also wouldn’t be surprised at a good pick, a good prospect. I could even see someone like Detroit doing wallinder, Rasmussen & Gus. A 30pt 3c, a prospect who was once highly touted but is a bit stagnant & a cap dump.
Maybe they arent and we'd be taking a money back in return. Again, these are complicated trades that are easier to make when you dont have a game the next night.
Of course, but as a result of not trading him back in November, which was a few months removed from his awesome playoff run, they let the season play out and Kreider absolutely sucked.
Well maybe that's because we don't have the full Panarin story....Overall public opinion on Panarin, right or wrong, will be basically unchanged. There is zero consequences for athletes that do this kind of stuff. See: Kobe.
A buddy of mine bounced in Jersey in the 90s, he saw the Devils do some shit. Illegal? Probably not, but basically worse than the outcome of this Panarin story. Point being, nothing is going to happen to him.
Totally true, we never will, and I think the general appetite for it, outside of places like this, is low.Well maybe that's because we don't have the full Panarin story....
Had they known he was going to fall off a cliff im sure they wouldve. Not one person expected this.
Maybe, but you can agree that Kreider had more value in November before he completely shit the bed this season? Maybe it balances itself out. IDK, but in a vacuum, Kreider had more value in November than he does now given the season he just had. Sure, a team may think that this season was an aberration or an outlier, but I would imagine that team also sees Kreider as a good buy low candidate instead of paying market price.
I can only take so much shit news in one sitting
He's just transcribing Vince's most recent podcastWho’s this Phil guy?
I could live with giving Drury one more chance as long as the entire coaching staff, 93, and 20 are gone this summer, at the minimum
