Speculation: Roster Building thread: Part XIX (Thanks, Sam)

But not openly critical of Drury. Vince has openly criticized Drury’s errors. Vince is a breath of fresh air to read. Larry Brooks is still a Dolan pawn.

Brooks understands not to bite the hand that feeds him. That's why he doesn't truly call out the front office.

Calvin DeHaan has been here for 5 seconds and even he can tell the culture Drury and co has built blows ass

The fact that this guy isn’t being fired out of a cannon after the last game on Thursday is insane
What has he done? Only sit in the press box for the last 18 games while they played the likes of Soucy (sp?) and Vaak. Maybe I'm wrong, but from the few games he did play, he didn't play badly at all. I'm very curious to hear the reasons why the Rangers obtained him and then put him on ice.

It was most likely Colorado just needed us to take a body from them for roster spot purposes, and CDH was making no money.

The Rangers also needed a body on d as well completing the Lindgren trade since Hartford had no one on defense capable, and the Soucy trade wasn’t done yet.

Jacob Trouba, Kaapo Kakko, Zac Jones, Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey, and Calvin de Haan.
Cheers.
Surprised to hear Mika has spoken out, he doesn't really seem the type.
I know he talked about it all being a struggle and disappointing but i really didn't think he'd take things further than that

You’re not giving away the 9th overall pick, simply asinine. Stop.
Remember that post you just made when Gavin McKenna is filling our net as a Penguin . Even if we did pick 5th we either ruin him or wait 5 years to develop or trade him off . Fate has a way to always bite us in the ass....look at how we lost the Crosby draft .

I'm a huge leadership guy but even if Mika acted like Crosby this team isn't winning anything. That window is closed. The star players have aged out or been injured. Id like the greatest leader and greatest coach but at the end of the day the players are old, slow and soft as a group. They need significant changes as a group. I'm not talking playing Berard on the 3rd line or Johnny Brodz on the 4th line changes. I mean top 6 forward and top 4 pairing changes.

He was a thrown in because Colorado was trying to free up every penny for other trades.

I think if you trade Panarin it's gotta not be for draft picks. No one who has a decent 1st round pick is going to want to pick up his last year, so it's gonna be some last 1/3 of the first round type pick.

Gotta get prospects with real upsides

I think you could do two things. You move panarin for prospects with upside and pick or two.

I think you could then flip those prospects depending on position for picks in 26 or you keep them or you make a bigger move with them. If we can move panarin, we can move more than panarin , and theres the reset opportunity.

Where's Edstrom been? Speaking of mysteries....this is why I've been so down the beat this year. He's been in New York because Mancini said he had dinner with Rempe and Edstrom, but you'd think we'd get a little more information on his timeline, if he's been rehabbing, skating, etc.......

I'm pretty sure it was a broken fibula when he collided with Zadarov, but not confirmed.

All Rangers said was that he was done for the season.
