Losses and continually losing the team, he must be leading the league in in season firings is he, havent looked it up. Look at the players Philly lost since he got there...mind boggling
I would ask these things though. What are the biggest issues with the rangers? Many would point to the room, accountability, and effort. What are things that torts is always praised for and has been especially since leaving phili? The room, accountability, and effort. Different teams/orgs need different coaches/presences at different points. The rangers have been a ship without a compass since the years of David Quinn, and there are many that have been around the team that think the same was true when AV was there and that he benefited tremendously from the culture torts built before he was fired. I find it hard to believe that if torts was anywhere near this organization that Mika and kreider would constantly be trotted out there on pp1 to act like slugs, or that laffy would continue to constantly dress and get minutes while he looks like he's thinking about how to install a new radio into a 96 civic instead of focusing on his actual job, or allowing a disaster like Housley to maintain his toxic hold on this defense and defensive "system." Torts is overboard at times for sure but he has demands from his players and he is a standards and culture building coach. Right now this team has no standards and no culture. I'm not saying they need to hire torts, but they definitely need a coach that can help reset this franchise and who will have actual standards that are demanded of these players. Too many pushover, hands off coaches recently that talk tough to the media but shrink up when dealing with the players.

In all seriousness, the key to everything is to see if Drury survives this after the team misses the playoffs. He was going to survive if they made the playoffs, but the team flaming out and quiting in this manner is going to really make drurys situation interesting and if he is cut loose or removed as the GM then it could be an absolute circus this summer, OR it could be a super quiet summer where they run it back and chalk up 24-25 as drurys fault and bet on odds that 25-26 can't be as bad.

Sit Ziba, CK, Panarin, and Fox for the rest of the season. Don't have them play at less that 100%

I don’t see how there can be any possibility of running it back regardless of who is in charge. There’s far too much rot inside that locker room to do that.

What a dichotomy

Lavi doesn’t go in the room after games, this is a game of telephone. Fox never says shit about any players, coaches, or anything to press. God this coach sucks

Rifts are coming to the fore. Could have players openly ripping on Lavi in the media by game 82.

Michkov did just fine under Torts and we don't have any forwards nearly as talented as him, so I wouldn't worry about it even if Torts does come back.

The Ducks won last night. Cutter Gauthier scored the tying and GWG. Carlsson set up both goals. In the second period, Gauthier made a great move to set up Lundestrom and Wolf made a great save. Wolf is very good going side to side. I saw Vailquette on Kyper and Bourne say Wolf is the best skating goalie in the NHL. Wolf is a small goalie and he needs that skating ability. Mario Lemieux always pointed how much he loved shooting on VBK and Richter because they were small goalies. The Ducks are one point behind the Rangers in the standings. Gauthier also really gotten better as the season has progressed. Good thing Gauthier isn't the Metro because he would be a beast to handle over the next 8-10 years. His skating ability for a big guy is so impressive. Verbeek has the Ducks headed in the right direction.

Ducks with 78 points. The Rangers with 79 points. 4 games remaining.

Anaheim is in LA tonight.

The Rangers with another loss. Tragic number is 1. Islanders tonight. Sorokin left the Nashville game after the 2nd period. The Swedish goalie will probably start the game for the Islanders. The Islanders can knock out the Rangers and remain in the playoff race.

Buffalo is in Columbus tonight. Columbus has 79. Buffalo has 76. Buffalo has won 5 straight games. 5 more games remaining. Reimer continues to win games. Run the table.

Detroit in Florida. Detroit outplayed Montreal. The Wings are making the Florida and TB trip. Buffalo will be making the same trip in a few days.

I really don't think it's going to be Torts.

I don't think Drury was overly fond of him when he played under him and if he and York nearly came to blows theres no way that they're going to touch that.

He needs to put in some work this summer.

Actually a lot of players on this team do. If he could just get to what he was his first couple years he’s back in the Norris conversation. I Worry about his knee but im almost sure he didn’t put in much work last summer
I don't think he put much work in during the season either . The looking to the sky move is almost perfected !

The most disappointing Ranger this year to me is Lafreniere. With all the shit going this year, you would think as a #1 overall pick. He would grab the rein and take the team as his. Instead, he played like a 4th line rookie. No fight in him, missing most of the games, horrible hockey player. Trade him for a bag of pucks.

I think the most hilarious irony to this season is that the Rangers have been really good at putting pucks in the net 5v5 since the new year. Top 5 in the league since then and 9th overall - they've scored more goals 5v5 than the vaunted offenses owned by the Oilers and Avalanche (which honestly, its a pretty significant red flag for both of those teams. Avs in particular are low key PP merchants.)

If you had told me they were going to do that before the season started, I would have told you that this team would have won the division and maybe the presidents trophy again. Some of this team's issues were predictable (a team that has been bad defensively for years making no changes to their defense is not going to get better at defense) but the PP cratering is something I'm sure no one was expecting and it's had a pretty significant impact, especially over the last 3 months. Loveeveryvet's complete reluctance to do anything different should be enough to get him fired and honestly it's not even a top 5 reason for me based off of how he's handled this season. You can't allow this guy to come back (Torts would be a dumb and lazy hire fwiw.)

I won't go as far as to call it the difference between them being in a playoff spot and not (they've blown so many games over the same time frame that they could have easily won with the same PP) but it's been one of the stories of the 2nd half of this season.

This season feels like the full season version of Quinn's last year minus Panarin getting dropped on his head. Off ice drama, a bit of a run to get back into it but every time they had an opportunity to take a significant step they'd miss it and fall on their faces.

Lastly, why the f*** is Soucy still getting regular shifts? Theres no justification for it. They tried to justify Lindgren's usage and existence with the mythos of his chemistry with Fox but that doesn't even exist for Soucy.
