For me this season has been a f***ing disaster and I just want it over with.

My younger brother who was a Rangers fan died last month and though we didn't talk that often.....he was living out in Washington state......when we did we usually talked a bit about the Rangers. So I'm heading out later this month for his funeral service and the rest of me is like f*** this shit.....let the spring come and tune out sports for a while. I don't really care which team wins as long as it ain't another metro area team.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Best wishes to you and yours.

Fox & Panarin are the only ones who can gain the zone with efficiency on the entire team

Why do they get the most heat? Heat should be on Mika and CK who play the game like it's a union job
A small cadre of posters want to talk about trading Fox. That’s pretty much it. There’s like three of them and each have quote replied posts of mine where I’ve talked about something completely non-Fox related and tried to turn it into a conversation about how he needs to be dealt. I’ve ignored them each time because it’s annoying

With the Adam Fox talk here; I don't think he's as good as some on here think; I don't think he's as bad as some think. The talk here was Ryan Lindgren was holding him back (in some ways, he probably was). He's had other defence partners this season and the results haven't been much different. Is he healthy? Only he and the NYR medical staff know for sure; when he gets healthy, hopefully he can get back to the Norris Trophy winning version of himself. As for a trade, I wouldn't want to give him away, but I'm not averse to moving him either. This team, as constituted, is a long way from winning anything. If moving him helps you get to building a team that can win a Stanley Cup (or maybe multiple Stanley Cups), then I'm all for it. Can he be a part of the future contending NYR team, yes; he lead the charge, doubtful as he needs other pieces around him. Everyone here is entitled to their opinion; we all won't agree with it.

As for the organization itself, it need to be blown up, roster (trade anything that moves) and front office/coaching staff. The players decided not to play this season after Chris Drury was "mean" to them last offseason, trying to make the moves that had to be made (eventually they were made, but not without acrimony). I'm not defending Drury here; he needs to go too. Laviolette not playing the kids these last few games is beyond idiotic; that alone should be a fireable offence. Whichever veteran players has a hangnail, send them home and tell them "See you at Training Camp in September"; if they're still Rangers at that point..

This is a major rebuild/sell off, which I know won't happen, but should. This team is far away from winning a Stanley Cup. You can only hope that the next rebuild will be executed properly and thoroughly & not abandoned half way through by signing/trading for shiny toys. Developing the prospects drafted and acquired properly is a must.

This organization needs to grow up; start acting like adults. Trades happen; get over it. Drury tried to do the right thing for the franchise last summer, but went about it in the wrong way.

His results have been good with every partner he’s had 100+ mins with this year.

Reset button top to bottom.

Blow it ALL up & start over.

Fire every single person involved with this team all the way to the flight attendants & baggage handlers.

They're all done & out.

Gone.

Start over like an expansion team without the expansion draft.

Never been so disappointed in this team in my life and there's been a lot of reasons to be.
Jay Woodcroft would be my choice for coach, not sure on GM. Valiquette would be nice to have on staff, not sure where, maybe scouting or player development.

Sullivan as HC with Torts as an assistant.

Shoot me.

There aren't any quick fixes or shortcuts available to the Rangers.

I am not picking on Adam Fox again. He isn't making the U.S. Olympic team next winter. The rosters are due by December 31. Unless there is a drastic improvement in his game, Fox will not be on that team and it will be a major embarrassment.

Lane Hutson will be on the team. Calder Trophy winner this season. Jackson Lacombe will be in the mix. Luke Hughes has had a very good 2nd half.

Quinn Hughes. Zack Werenski. Hutson. The U.S. doesn't need anymore PP guys.

Charlie McAvoy and Brock Faber will be on the team. Jaccob Slavin will definitely be in the team. Jacob Sanderson will be on the team. Another young emerging D. Sanderson had a bigger role on the 4 nations team by the end of the tournament.

It's too easy to say he won't make the team with the expanded rosters compared to 4 nations. He's probably going to make the roster and play some games, but the idea he will be in the top 6 for the elimination games is very far fetched. There are players that do fox stuff better than fox, and the American defensive depth is improving month by month.

Easily:
Hughes
Werenski
Slavin
Sanderson
Faber
McAvoy
Hudson
Hanafin

Oh, and remember a couple years ago with kam was talked about as a long shot to make the Olympic team if his game kept trending up based on all the tools he has? Yikes have things changed.

Very interesting phrasing by Vally here

Torts has been long rumored to be looking at an executive position. If Dolan looks at the end of this disaster of a season and has lost faith in drury does he turn hockey ops over to torts? Shit would definitely be entertaining.
