I am a Fox fan and wouldn’t think about moving him unless the return was substantial. For me personally everyone is tradable to build a winning team. He needs a legit partner to support him, a Ryan McDonagh type, oops. Luke Hughes won’t be 22 until September and has 40+ pts in his 1st 2 seasons as a 20 & 21 yr old. He is 6’ 2” 200 lbs and is one of the best skaters in the league already. His defense has a long way to go but there is A LOT of runway. Won’t find many Devils fans that would trade Hughes for Fox.

I’m probably in the minority here, but when someone says “this guy is a good defenseman” my mind goes to ‘can he play defense”? Luke is not there yet in my mind. Fox was good at defense not too long ago. Hopefully when he’s rested, injury free and gets a decent D partner he will be again.

I’m a speed guy. IMO if Panarin was as good of a skater as Kucherov, he’d be the best player in the league. Same with Fox, but unfortunately Fox is terribly slow. I put no faith whatsoever in what a typical Devil fan has to say about the Rangers, and while I believe Fox is better, I don’t know if I would trade Luke for Fox either.

Those are goals and they happened. There's nothing "fancy" about it.

Taking that back to 2022, he's +65. The Rangers, without him on the ice, 9th most wins over that span, are -26.

I'm sorry, but nobody has to care what your opinion is on this. He drives results to the point of complaints being unjustifiable.

I think turning the page on the rush hockey culture which Zib, Panarin and Kreider have grown up on here needs to happen. The sense of entitlement at ES is a product of having elite PP and goaltending, resulting in less effort at ES. It’s not even Kreider and Zibs fault, as it’s all they know as successful professionals.

We need to create a new organizational philosophy and I struggle on how we can do that successfully while all 3 are still core players. Ideally, 2 of the 3 are gone this summer. Unfortunately, only 1 is assured.

It bothers me because he’s the only good defenseman we’ve had on this piece of shit team in the past decade aside from spurts from Tony DeAngelo and K’Andre Miller. It bothers me because in a year where the team is utter dogshit, Adam Fox is putting up elite numbers still and yet there are people like you shitting all over him because you don’t like the way he looks when he’s on the ice or because of some stupid ass meaningless tournament that consisted of 4 games, all the while the pairing that was getting all the accolades f***ing sucked ass and was the reason team USA lost the final game.

This is the mindset that leads the Rangers to trading one of our 2 true difference makers in an effort to reset the “culture of the team” and sends the Rangers into a spiral. Instead of trying to make Fox’s life a little easier by getting a legitimate top pairing or even second pairing defenseman to play with him, we gotta hear shit about how he’s not that good and he’s part of the problem. I'm honestly in the camp of just blowing the entire thing up and moving any and all pieces that won't fit into the next iteration of the team in terms of timeline and I think that includes Fox. I do believe the level of criticism thrown his way is unwarranted while also acknowledging he has had a "down" year by his standards. I think the problem with Fox was being compared to the upper, upper echelon (Makar, Hughes, prime Hedman) of defensemen earlier in his career when truthfully he's just not there. Fox probably falls into the second tier (McAvoy, Heiskanen, etc.) which is still extremely valuable to any team, but will never look as good as those other guys.

Adam Fox has his flaws, but as has been stated he is a difference maker. He is signed long term to a contract that is not unreasonable and in the next 2 yrs will probably be considered a bargain. The fact that any dman on this team could even have a passable season this year is amazing. The system does not fit the personnel and the forwards were a disgrace defensively. No forecheck, zero backcheck. The defensive effort at 5v5 has been embarrassing.
