79 needs to go as well. Physically talented, clearly. He’s also complete head case. You will never win with him as a key (no pun intended) piece. With his vapid IG identity, he’s a perfect fit for LA or Anaheim. (I’m fairly certain the Ducks tried to trade up for him on Draft Day).

I think they're just not great players. Good, useful, worthy of a contract in the NHL sure, just not 1 and 2 overall picks. I still can't identify one thing Laff does out on the ice that you would say is great or exceptional.

Fair, but Drury will be shipping out a lot of the cancer in the offseason and will add. I think there is no way we are a bottom feeder team. Almost impossible.

To me, the core of this team to build around is as follows

Forwards: Perreault, Cuylle, Berard, JT, Edstrom, Laffy

Defense: Fox, Miller, Borgen

Goalie: Igor

if Panarin wants to re-sign for half of what he’s making I’ll add him to the list as well.

That leaves you Kreider, Mika and Trocheck as veterans to trade for pieces. And Schneider and Othmann as younger guys to move in hockey deals.

I wouldn’t be opposed to moving Laf in the right deal. Same goes for JT but they have no centers in the pipeline so someone gotta play C

If that screams anything other than rebuild id love to know how

I expect a finish around where we are this year if Drury is given one more year.

He'll trade the 1st this year and defer the 2026 pick to Pittsburgh.

He'll trade Kreider for 50 cents on the dollar.

He'll try for Zibanejad. If Trouba is movable any player is. But I don't see it happening this summer.

I don’t see what the blueprint is for getting this team back to contention anytime soon without rebuilding quite frankly. Are we going to bank on McDavid or Eichel reaching UFA and for some reason leaving much more successful teams to sign with the Rangers? Are we trading Panarin, which would constitute making the team worse and taking a step back and somehow that’s going to catapult the rangers into contention? What’s the play here? For those who are vehemently against becoming Buffalo, are you more content becoming the Islanders or Minnesota?

How about St. Louis. When the window starts to close, trade your 30ish stars for younger guys and draft picks, and constantly have a better than average defense.

I`m not gonna lie, I was sure they would fight for the Metro this year. I`m extremely disappointed.

I had them 3rd behind Jersey and Carolina. I figured there would be a regression and that Panarin and Trochek would fall back to earth a bit. I did not see Zibanejad and Kreider declining this soon. That and Shesterkin having an off year is what ultimately did them in.

What I didn't count on was Ovechkin turning back the clock to 2010 and the Caps winning the division. I thought that Chychrun was good business but I'm still stunned that this team was that good this year.

Where is Drury? This guy doesn't say peep all year. Who knows what his plan to get out of this mess might entail. For all we know, he could trade Lafreniere for another 30yo+ player and another #6-7 D. Drury thinks of himself as some genius that need not justify anything he does. From an outsider's perspective, however, he looks like a fool.
