Laf will throw you a bone, then steal your dog bed.
We have the whole summer to keep kicking a dead Kreider, but we have to remember that opposing GMs are salivating at the the thought of lowballing us into oblivion.
yes IF IF IF IF IFIf it's GMs plural, thats how bidding wars get started.
I don't think they're going to do poorly for Kreider. A bunch of the "contenders" are going to fall short this year and are going to look for a veteran forward with a track record and the UFA market is really, really shallow. Teams overlook bad seasons alllllll the time and I'd venture to say that almost every GM would look at Kreider and think "we can fix him."
Plus he's actually a reasonable bet for a bounce back. Not 50 goal bounce back, but I could see him scoring 30+ again next year.
......
someone gives us an acceptable return -- at this pt I'll take decent at min -- then yes CK gets traded
but for the umpteenth time this is not a technique or similar issue a club can correct just w/attention to detail.
Either the guy is sufficiently physically fit at min or he is not
There will be no way to know until next season, when he proves it/or not, and we will see then as we see now.
Shoe on the other foot, you are not gonna pay for Kreider [barring a favor which will cost something else down the line]. You are gonna want to wait AT LEAST half a season to see and be sure he's still got it.
If no one is paying, = likely we have to pay to remove him,
we are better off w/him on LTIR
let him teach Rempe etc how to be a net presence
