Reading other team boards is a great exercise for perspective. It makes you realize that none of us have original thoughts and everyone posts the exact same shit about their teams. Their posters even follow the same character tropes as ours do lmao.

Some of the funniest stuff ever is to compare. You’ll read this board for years and see posts about how soft and physically weak our team is. Then you’ll read the GDT of an opponent we beat and all their fans are killing each other in arguments saying they’re too soft and weak and need to get tougher like the Rangers to really compete.

Every coach loves their vets and hates their rookies and is incapable of making in game adjustments.

When the team wins and the players go on a bowling outing it’s showing that they’re more than a team. They’re family. They have bonds beyond being coworkers. When they lose and go bowling it’s because they’re already in offseason mode and are lazy millionaires who can’t be bothered to care about their jobs.

The beer is too expensive and the stadium bathrooms are gross. The Bible said there is nothing new under the sun [Ecclesiastes 1:9] and that the team spends too much time passing and doesn’t shoot the puck [citation needed].
And this is why: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and sowed in His garden the great tree of analytics."

-Plamsalonians 3:16

I know, and it’s not an uncommon trajectory for those that work their way up through management. There’s plenty of other guys around the league with similar profiles. Martin was with Detroit for like 15 years under Holland before coming here.

My comment was pertaining to Drury also being interviewed for open GM spots while working here. If I remember correctly, didn’t Gorton also block him from interviewing a team too? Let him interview for the job just like everyone else. His job here hasn’t earned him the right to a de facto promotion.
I believe they blocked him from interviewing for the Sabres job and he withdrew from interviewing for the Panthers gig after one interview

Nah.

I broke him down a few weeks ago and it was… not good.

He has strengths (awesome shooter) but he’s horrid defensively. The charts don’t really capture how bad he is. Hes bails out of taking contact all the time and perhaps that’s due to his concussion history, but it’s a thing.

He’d need a coach who really knows what they’re doing. If we had David Carle I’d be more willing to roll the dice there but then again I’d provably just pay extra to try to pry Power out of there in that case.
Fair enough. Definitely not who I was thinking of!

Pierre Luc Dubois was traded last offseason after 1 year of his long term deal. He makes $8.5m per season. 40 points in 82 games. LA was able to save $3.25m in cap space and filled a position if need in goal. It’s not the most ideal trade but it worked for both teams.

That’s going to likely be the type of trade that sends Zibanejad out of NY. 52 points in 77 games and 4 years left. How much will the team be willing to take back in order to make it work?

Minnesota has Hartman and Trenin. Both guys with term and who have under performed. Minnesota could use more scoring.

There are other guys on other teams who could use a change of scenery. Would Boston trade Lindholm? Will Nashville be looking to make some changes after a disappointing season?

What’s Boston looking to do?

Are they going into rebuild mode or re tooling? If it’s the latter, that’s a potential spot for Zibanejad (Kreider too.)

If not? There’s really no reason for them to even look in our direction.

I don't think Mika will be hard to trade, I think his nmc will not allow them to do it. Kreider might have some conditional stuff in his trade, but both guys should bring back some decent stuff. I think it's pretty obvious this year was an anomaly for Kreider, a guy that keeps himself fit and relatively healthy

Stan Fischer spent decades cheerleading the Isles and Devils and shitting all over the Rangers. When the Rangers won in '94 he seemed pretty butthurt the day of the parade.....spent the next yada amount of years going on about how the refs screwed over the Devils in the conference finals against the Rangers that playoffs. This past season or two he seems to have some gig with the Hockey News just to talk about the Rangers. He's never really been a Rangers fan.....he's professed actually to being a Maple Leafs fan when he was a kid who just happened to go to a lot of Rangers games because they were the only show in town. He definitely was all in for the Isles and Devils throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's etc. For me he's been a career and decades long Rangers basher and when he finally passes it will be Isles and Devils fans going to town for him and praising him the most.

That doesn't mean he isn't right here but I will say he writes some of the silliest articles going and as much as Brooks gets critiqued for being all over the place and often writing filler that's all Fischler ever does. But anyway I've been a partisan Rangers fan for a long time and don't make any excuses about it---I've always looked at him on the enemy side.

2 things
1 - we have to eat the full 4.25 per x 5 if we want it done this offseason
2 - have to send him where he will go.
The one treasure Zib prizes above all others is his little girl. Being able to spoil her w/regular Disneyland could mean yes for Ks, maybe Ducks
other locations not def, but likely wishful thinking

agree w/the bold.
But a back is not something easily rendered back into workable shape, esp if you are gonna subjec it to reaggravation by further abuse w/a physical game

Once Kreider heals, we may have to rely on him only situationally on PP. May have to hope for the best from his speed game.

No one is gonna rush to buy Kreider
they will want to see how he does next season

I skipped that and went right to that lunatic Ludvig Borga.

I'm so sick of Hell in a Cell 98 and the Montreal Screwjob. We get it. We've seen many documentaries on each.

In general I really can't watch a majority of WWF after Wrestlemania 14 (except Wrestlemania 18), the matches were so bad and they kept repeating catchphrases and poses al the time.

Just finished Big Van Vader. So sad.

There aren't any quick fixes or shortcuts available to the Rangers.

I am not picking on Adam Fox again. He isn't making the U.S. Olympic team next winter. The rosters are due by December 31. Unless there is a drastic improvement in his game, Fox will not be on that team and it will be a major embarrassment.

Lane Hutson will be on the team. Calder Trophy winner this season. Jackson Lacombe will be in the mix. Luke Hughes has had a very good 2nd half.

Quinn Hughes. Zack Werenski. Hutson. The U.S. doesn't need anymore PP guys.

Charlie McAvoy and Brock Faber will be on the team. Jaccob Slavin will definitely be in the team. Jacob Sanderson will be on the team. Another young emerging D. Sanderson had a bigger role on the 4 nations team by the end of the tournament.

Cut to December when he makes it easily.

Anyway there are a ton of assumptions here.
