I like Rempe and I have been critical of 2 of his previous hits. This one didn't seem that bad. Seemed like his arm came up a a function of bracing and initiating contact. And I remember thinking they were hardly moving so it seemed odd.

But he has a rep now and the league doesn't like him. Kinda bullshit in my opinion. Like I said in the Rempe thread, Reaves threw a dirtier hit 2 nights ago on Smith and didnt even get a penalty. Reaves gets the grandfather treatment. The league doesn't want anyone new like that so they are tanking him before he even gets started.

Hoping they take intent into account and will work w/him.
Has to react a little more instinctively about using/not using the arm.
he can get over that hump

When kreider first came into the league, one of his earlier shifts he went through chara like a hot knife thru butter.
He had to make adjustments
same here

I don’t want him. This is not a wish trade, this is a guess trade. Kyle Dubas and Jason Spezza were at the Hartford/Providence game tonight.
They could have been there to scout a Bruins prospect or they could have been there to scout a Ranger prospect.
If it was a player off the Wolf Pack Roster I would only think it could be Mancini or Garand.
Mancini is probably not a prospect that Drury would deal especially with our lack of defensive depth. That leaves Garand who was just a center of an article about Utah should be targeting Dylan.
If Drury is still hopeful about this season then bringing in Pettersson and moving out Lindgren makes sense. In order to balance out the trade Garand goes in for Pittsburgh and two 2nd come back this way.

You may be right. Pettersson is out. States week to week. That can’t be good.
Well, I would not rush to trade Garand. He's doing well. Statistically speaking, just as good as Askarov this season. If we ultimately are going to trade Dylan (like say he's not going to get enough games in behind Shesterkin next season), I'd want to build up his value and at least asset manage correctly. NSH got Edstrom and a 1st for Askarov. Garand should be in the young goalie category of Wolf, Levi, Wallstedt, Askarov. Albeit on the lower end but he's top 5 in terms of young goalies on the cusp to make the jump up. Ironically, Brandon Halverson is having himself a year in Syracuse this season.

I’m not sure what to make of this. Canucks seem to have similar issues to the Rangers. Locked into a core that the room knows isn’t good enough. I’ve liked JT but not sure he’s the right fit. Drury did ask about him, and Vancouver asked about Kreider. I don’t know that Vancouver would trade Pettersson. I also have some fear he’d become another Zibanejad living the NYC life.

If Marcus Pettersson wasn’t out for awhile with a lower body injury I’d call it:
Lindgren and Dylan Garand
for Pettersson, 2026 2nd and 2027 2nd.

Mancini and Garand are good prospects, but also good trade chips. Garand will never start here. Mancini may be blocked if Borgen is more than a rental and we have organization depth with Emery come down the pipe. I think you could pair Lindgren + Garand/Mancini to get Pettersson and another piece when he gets healthy. Probably look to extend him as well.

Miller-Fox
Pettersson -Schneider
Vaakanainen-Borgen

I’m much more comfortable with keeping these reliable veterans around than going young on defense. I think Borgen, Vaak are big and can skate and Pettersson would be more of that.

Pettersson is a UFA he’s an upgrade to Lindgren. Dubas is going to want more. Like you posted, Shesterkin is our guy for better or worse.
I don’t see Drury parting with a RHD prospect especially with our d pipeline so barren.
For me Garand is to valuable to be an equalizer in that trade. Pittsburgh would need to add and add big.
n8 believes that Garand could bring us back Rust or Bunting.
If that is true then we should be able to get a better top 4 d-man on an expiring contract than Pettersson even with Lindgren attached to the trade.

Might as well ask about Sid while we’re at it

If you wanna know what I think about Dubas and Spezza at the hartford game is that I believe we're interested in Bunting...just my opinion

I like Rempe but he has to stop following players to the wall, come at an angle, he's straight on the numbers most times, I thought he was getting a penalty on that hit behind their net too

I think Dubas is obsessed with trying to get Brennan Othmann.
My guess it's Garand he is after

I'm also gonna go on a limb and say that while everyone is focused on Jt.miller, I just get a gut feeling it's Peterson he's after.

Rust or Bunting would be big upgrades in Kakko’s old middle 6 spot.

Bunting is a good player with some bite which people will love.

Rust is also clearly a good player but I'm going to be skeptical of anyone who plays with Crosby.

I don't feel like adding to this group is a good idea until they can prove that they deserve the upgrades. An Igor fueled win against a good team doesn't really move the needle for me.

I don't think this is adding really, it's shifting imo, a retool. Say kreider, lindgren and Vesey out and Bunting, and Petey in. Not sure how those trades would work or if we had the assets to pull it off. It would likely be easier if Mika left but just the general idea of something they might be thinking.
