Quick story. Back in 2008 when Marek Malik was the whipping boy, a buddy of mine was having drinks at Mustang Sally's/Harry's, one of those.

A couple of hours after a game ended, Marek walked into the bar to have a postgame drink. The bar was full of Rangers fans and he was recognized immediately. The fans started to boo him to his face/told him he sucks, etc until he pounded his beer and left after 10 minutes.
That's just as bad as the night someone actually wore a Malik jersey to MSG. I remember seeing him on the street before the game and asked myself "what is he thinking?" Needless to say, the Garden Faithful were merciless -- poor guy had to be escorted out by security for his own safety.

Another thing worth adding, if Drury really goes for a big shakeup from now to the summer... Trocheck is another one to look out for. His NMC transitions to a 12 team NTC I believe this summer. So if Drury looks to inject some more youth into the center position Vinny could ultimately turn into another trade chip

no one is going to give equal value for equal value (unless complementary like a lefty for a righty); clubs trade for profit

We should stop pitching trading youth esp if return is unlikely to be better. I don't care about immediate problems, instant gratification is a good chunk of what has driven us to this mess.

Focus on unloading the vet drek
Kreider can stay
everybody else needs to go

Would you trade Panarin or try to get him to a bargain?

I have zero interest in signing kandre to big money long term. Far too many games where hes totally mentally checked out and seems to care about more off ice stuff than on ice stuff
iI think the team improves with him, Lindgren and Trouba not on the team in any capacity

Would we have to add much in a deal for Hayton?

Dont know much enough about Hayton. K'Andre strikes me as a guy who has more value to anther team than us. I know what's weird to say, as we are thin on the left side, but he can definitely be upgraded. Fox NEEDS a real partner.

18 month project. Trocheck's NMC becomes a limited NTC this summer. Fox's has a NMC this summer. Remove some players before the deadline. Remove some this summer. Can't do everything at once. Panarin's contract expires next season. It's up to him. He wants to go. He wants to stay. He is not getting another contract here.

The vitriol for the guy was unlike anything I've ever seen. It was like all the frustration from 1998 through 2006 was taken out on the guy.

A few people should go and do this to Zibanejad
.

That's a package you trade for Connor McDavid, not Brady freaking Tkachuk.
Crazy to think that players eventually stop trying here, never give our franchise a discount, rarely return and seem to play disinterested...

I thought he and "Not so Rosy" were the worst d-men I ever saw on our blue line....but the worst I ever wished on them was that they'd be moved somewhere else.

That story makes me feel bad about our fanbase. I have a story about Mika.

After Game 1 against Pittsburgh back in 2022 (3OT loss) I ran into Mika walking home from the Garden with his family. He looked like his dog ran away. I didnt want to annoy him with a picture our anything but just gave him the "tough loss, but you guys will bounce back." He said thanks and "we know". He went on to save their bacon in Game 6&7 of that series.

Bottom line is that we can say all we want anonymously on the internet, but these guys are human beings that deserve respect in person.

Neither were even close to the worst dmen we put out there.

Pilon, Levfebre, purinton, redden and there were many more i am forgetting.

Both of them played admirably and unfortunately higher than they should be. We would be better if we had them than miller, trouba lindgren currently. Especially Rosy.

Seriously. They weren’t even the worst dmen on the team.

I don't get all of the smoke about Dallas.

Seguin is a depth player for them at this point. They're not exactly in scramble mode.

They're also not a good trade partner. They wouldn't move anything I'm particularly interested in. It's bananas that people are suggesting Wyatt Johnston. The only piece we have that returns Wyatt Johnston is Adam Fox, and obviously f***ing not.

The only move I could kind of see is Kreider for Bourque, but there's moves I could kind of see with every team in the league. Dallas isn't particularly on the front-burner because like their 9th best forward got hurt.

It would be like Reilly Smith getting hurt and the Rangers trading Cuylle to replace him.

As a pair, (IMO) they were atrocious. Individually -- yes there were worse.

Seguin was a point per game player for them this year. I think Trouba makes more sense for them though, they've got nothing but crap on the right side. I thought i saw somewhere too that Trouba preferred Colorado or Dallas as a destination.
