Explain to me how just getting rid of Kreider does this.
He has been ass 5 on 5. No winger can palay with him and zibs. He is weak on the boards, doesnt hit anymore and isnt a playmaker or drive the olay.

His one move is receive a pass on the wing and skate by people.

We will be worse on the Pk though. He is excellent there.

Im not convinced that we would be much worse off on the PP. we would need to change the entire PP but that doesnt mean it would not be effective. And our Pp this year looked shitty recently anway.

He also would get a better return than anyone not named Miller. So that has to be taken into account. So if we score a top 4 dman for him, we almost defintely would be better 5 on 5.

He is not irreplaceable, he is a winger. The easiest position to fill. We are strong at Lw with prospercts.

He is not a hall of famer, nor perennial all-star. Its not the end of the world.

I root for the Rangers not the Kreiders.

But the return on Kreider is key. Sont just trade him to trade him. Either get a top 4 d or a first and high end prospect.

Trocheck is flying under the radar because of the two guys playing wing on that line. He's been almost as bad a Zib. Complete non-factor most nights.

Without a doubt, also because he's not as big a name as Zbad and because he at least has some jam/grit.

But he's been absolutely terrible and is also a big reason the big rutt the team is in. if it werent for the two wings he was playing with, he seriously might be a 4th liner right now.

Look at Alex Barkov and Sam Bennett for example vs

Zibanejad and Trocheck, their level of play this season and right now.

IMO, that position Top6C is the biggest issue right now with this team.

We're talking a lot about Kreider, rightfully so, but there is no player that deserves to be kicked to the curb more than Trouba. We'll most likely never get the full story on what went down in the summer, but the fact that he came into this season looking and acting like a malcontent pisses me off. He blocked the changes the rangers and drury wanted to make and then the whole core decided they could coast on Igor's back until the playoffs thinking that was acceptable.

The leadership on this team sucks and if that isnt obvious and infuriating to you as a fan and paying customer idk what to tell you. The fanbase deserves better. This team should be foaming at the mouth to win the elusive Cup, but they just arent.

And your third C can't stay healthy. Move Miller for a center prospect. That's the deal I'd make.

There's a lot of speculation here. I can't stand the guy as a player but every indication is, Trouba is a very good captain. Just because a team is in a funk, doesn't mean it's Lord of the Flies in the locker room.

Brassard was a bust CBJ wanted no part of, and Im pretty sure John Moore was a healthy scratch for them. If the rangers can get Byram, McLeod and another piece from Buffalo for Kreider, Id consider it a solid move.
Buffalo isn't going to trade McLeod. They specifically targeted him and gave up a really good prospect in Savoie for him to diversify their forward corps.

Byram is also a bust. He'd be more of the "Brassard" in this deal. Greenway is the guy I'd target along with Byram.

I believe there is some kind of chronological order scenario here. If this happens, then this and this. If #1 does not happen it will all be a dud. We will see. Soon
Is #1 an Igor extension?

Feels unlikely that any move would occur without cost certainty on our most important player

If Trouba defended our goalie 1 time this year, I'd consider him a good Captain. The locker room likes him because he and his wife plan the team Christmas party. He's been our worst player in every playoff run we've had, going back to the covid bubble. I defended him for too long. he contributes nothing, and wont be missed.

I understand the approach, but understand why some people might question it. if you don’t think this team can win (who does really?), you’re on your way to remaking the team anyway.

So drury figures he’ll trade guys in a certain order—he has to anyway since it’s mid-season—to see if it garners a reaction along the way: maybe some players will sulk, maybe some guys will surprise him.

And those responses will help him decide further moves (signing shesterkin, etc).

This definitely reads as the guy who yelled at kravstov and tried to embarrass trouba in the media.

The thing I think is potentially dumb about it is it means that Drury doesn’t just have a solid enough read on his own players. So I get why some posters are like either just rebuild the team or don’t. It seems like it would be hard to create a “good culture” by embarrassing guys.

I get how we ended up here but it seems kind of backwards.

Buffalo passes the smell test for me as a team that would have the appetite for a respected veteran like Kreider. They have a lot of youth they dont know what to do with.
I always had a soft spot for the Sabres....I would feel some bad for them getting a guy who will not help them unless they don't send much of anything back. Will CK change his style of play ? Posters in here say he won't become what he is not ......so they may have that part right.

you can't spare him either. you need to bring in an LD. Mancini can't play at this level yet.
Soft disagree. Mancini should be playing 25 minutes in Hartford to help him develop at this juncture, but he was perfectly serviceable in a bottom pairing role to start the year. The team was good with him in the lineup. Things started to sour right when Lindgren rejoined the team.

i dunno what you're basing this off. he looked spry and vigorous but the results were terrible. unlike some, im not saying he sucks and always will. he just needs more time.

He sent a message to all NHL general managers following Sunday's loss to the Oilers that the Rangers are open for business and motivated to shakeup their core, according to two sources who spoke to lohud.com, part of the USA TODAY Network, on the condition of anonymity. Kreider and captain Jacob Trouba are the candidates Drury is most actively shopping, but very few are considered off limits. Defenseman Ryan Lindgren is another who's widely believed to be available.

Well, two of the three are the right pieces to move, so I can't really complain about it.

Sell Lindgren for whatever you can get.
