12 million... and he is worth every Steve Penny of it . Without him we are fodder for the wolves . I can live with either decision[but nothing half assed....trade all the dummies overpaid and play kids ] but I prefer to resign him . The kid route would take some time and there is nothing assured with our drafting/coaching/GM fellows getting it right ...they likely blow it and soon we are at one cup in 100 years.....some legacy for an original 6 club to have .
Glad i don’t have some of you guys doing my investments… sheesh

Personally I dont care as much about Igor's number as I do about what the trade protection is. I absolutely don't want a ntc for the whole contract, and at the least his final 3 or 4 years should have a minimum of 16 teams we can trade him to if need be. My biggest issue is that I feel Garand will be a solid nhl goalie, maybe not at Igors current level but could he be better in 4 years as their trajectory intersects? Possibly, and if that's the case you'd ship Igor out at that point and ride the cheaper guy

Washington, D.C.
"Word is that he struggled", like Vince couldn't be bothered to know for sure and just looked at some stats. Word around the corner is something happened and didn't look good.
Same reaction. How f***ing lazy. “People tell me”. “Everyone is saying”. That’s embarrassing for a “journalist”.

I don't mind admitting I'm wrong when that is actually the case, but that is NOT the situation here.
Rempe will not get max benefit development in the A.
He needs max mins here = reg 4th line mins = 10ish per nite.
He can supplement by having a specialist skating tutor do extra training w/him to target his development.

We want Rempe available for the POs and the above is most direct, smartest way to likely achieve that.
The A will not cut it.

We need Rempe, Edstrom + Kreider all kicking on all cylinders to get past FL
Were the decision between Rempe getting 11 mins/game on the third line in the AHL and Rempe getting 3 mins/game in the NHL I think I’d prefer the latter.
But it appears Rempe is actually getting big minutes in various situations with Hartford so I’m happy with that. Think we’ll see him up and playing a more consequential role in after the new year.

has he actually improved at all? Because him seeing minutes and him improving are very very separate things.

He had a goal and an assist and seven shots in his last game. Obviously a small sample size but either way, if he does have an nhl skillset, giving him big minutes in the ahl seems to be a reasonanle way to get him there.
