The Rangers have one of the best 4th lines in hockey, lets break it up to insert an AHL goon for vibes though.
And I want to win the lotto. Crosby is not being dealt to the Rangers unless it's a St.Louis issue and forces his way here.
If Chytil is out long term, id like to see Edstrom center the 3rd line

I wish we could FF through this year, it's always gonna be a 4-1 2nd round exit they weren't even competitive in.

Miller for Zegras
What’s more important #3C, or #1LD?
Would argue all day that #1LD is far more important, however there are some underlying problems here.
1) Is the current #1LD really a #1LD?
In this case #1LD isn’t a true #1LD. On skill, size, skating he could be. Just doesn’t have the head to go with it. Also doesn’t have the bite or compete level that you would want in #1LD. If he had either he would be spoke about much differently here. If he had a better Hockey IQ, and had bite to his game he would be completely irreplaceable. He doesn’t have either.
How would the Rangers replace him? The unpopular decision would be to slide Lindgren back there. The team has made two very deep runs with that pairing. Just couldn’t get over the hump. They also have Mancini who was very strong in his rookie season prior to the demotion. Or…Give #4 a shot up top.
2) What’s more important to the success of this club #3C, or #1LD?
In this case, 3rd line has been tremendous. Maybe the best line the team has. So the question then becomes, if #3 can’t return, would a trade for a replace C have the same impact. No guarantee there. Also, what if a trade is made but #3C comes back into the lineup? Well that would be a good problem.
With the Concussion history Chytil has. With the game Chytil plays which seems to be head down when chasing and carrying pucks how feasible is it that he will be long term option for the Rangers? Just don’t see how they can count on him returning.
If Drury was able to acquire Zegras for K’Andre I think it’s a fair deal value wise. Slight adds either way to get it done. Not certain about Cap implications though. I’d take a swing at that deal all day. Then get the best LD via trade using Othman or the 2024 1st.

Rempe being better than Vesey is one of the worst takes I've ever seen on these boards but, I'll says this much, he's sticking to it no matter what.
6 games, no points, -6 in the AHL = screaming that he's NHL ready and better than Vesey.
No fights though.
Granted, Miller has played about 40 more games over the past 3 years, but even as a young d-man he has produced almost the same amount of points. Meanwhile, 4 of Miller’s 75 have come on the PP, 18 of Z’s 83 have been with the extra man. Miller, in 160ish to Z’s 120ish games has outproduced him at even strength. One is a mobile 6’5 defender who isn’t really relied on for offense at all and one is a slight non-physical forward who is literally only in the league FOR offense, whose production has also been pretty brutal the past 2 seasons. I do see the upside with Zegras, but I also have concerns that he got too much hype for his trick shots too early and became “a star” long before earning star status and it’s f***ed with his development as a professional. I certainly don’t think he’s gonna be some Patrick Kane or Mitch Marner level skill forward, but those are his comparables. I’m not really sure I see the need for diet Marner on this team. We’re already fed up with guys like Zib being soft. I think Miller has much better value currently.
I’m not remotely against moving Miller if push comes to shove. We may benefit from some patience with him, but at the same time I believe he’s HIGHLY coveted around the league. He put up like 43 points a season ago and it’s 40 ES points as a super young D with superlative physical attributes. We get to see him a lot and we can gamble on whether or not the head will catch up with the talent - it’s definitely risky. But I don’t know if Zegras is the target, at all. The infatuation with a showy, seemingly entitled kid just because he’s from Bedford (maybe that’s why he’s entitled) and we feel like we’re owed a flashy offensive star because we took KK that year doesn’t truly jive with the player he actually is. I get that getting out of Anaheim might allow him to break out and flourish, but as things stand Miller may out produce him this year and I’m just not sold on gambling on Zegras because I think his ego outgrew his britches. There are players around the league that I’d be willing to damn near empty the cupboard for - Miller, Otthman, Perrault, PLUS - but a struggling one dimensional player whose claim to fame isn’t even being amazing at hockey, but being amazing at doing tricks with the puck… I’m not sold.

It's all so tiresome
I’m not sure what happened with Zegras but the player he was his first couple of seasons was very productive and valuable even if he’s not going to be an elite talent and someone 8the Rangers should be interested in acquiring if Chytil is done. Question is, where is that version of Zegras? Depending on the cost it’s a risk I might take.
