Good time to Sign Chytil, Howden, Lindgren etc to cheap 4-5 year deals

Honestly, barring BIG steps from them, this could be a silver lining to this flat cap situation. Granted, if they have good agents they won’t take lengthy deals but if we can get even a few of these lower producing assets locked into lengthier cheap deals, exchanging long term security for higher salary, it could end up being a big benefit down the road. We’ll see.

sounds good but beware. You lock up them all up and find any not pulling their weight . . . now you’re stuck with them.

Good deal if they all stick though.

Arthur staple is dumb as $h!t

he may sign back with the isles (Lou is insane) but he definitely has been talking to the Rangers.

If we're moving Kreider to right wing it probably means he gets a bit of a leash for a while to adapt.

Back to Georgiev--it gives Wall a couple years to get his feet wet and Lindbom a chance to get his game back on track. I don't see this as a particular issue. Best not to rush guys before they're ready. If one or both of them are making real progress in the 2nd year of Alex's contract it gives us someone to fall back on if we decide to move Alex.

Out of those players the one Id try to sign long term rn is Chytil, maybe Lindgren. Don't see the benefit in doing so with Howden.
Agree. In no way is Howden a guy that makes that list. Chytil and Lindgren would be the two I try to get on a longterm deal right now. Lindgren especially. I think you know what youre gona get from him moving forward. He is what he is, which is a physical stay at home defenseman. And its really what we need. So if you can lock him up on a good deal, it would also be movable in the future if he gets pushed out by one of the young prospects down the line.
