Replace Kravtsov with Nieves.I mean, I really only have one guy playing bonafide out of position.

Yeah, because those things are close.Replace Kravtsov with Nieves.
Barron has 18 points in 19 AHL games and he was a PPG player in college. He's probably already better than an NHL 4th liner.dude you went Full Bern. You never go full Bern
if 2 of Berard, Vierling, Cuylle, Barron, Ronning Richards, turn out to be anything above 4th liners that would be immense for this club. It’s possible more then 2 can. But if you get 2 cheap middle/bottom 6 guys from that lot I’d consider us extremely lucky
You can't discount the synergy Nieves brings to an NHL top line.Yeah, because those things are close.
Like I said, I don't have a crystal ball, so nobody can fill in every spot.
But moving Kravtsov to center solves multiple problems and it's something I would be trying instead of trying to sneak into the last playoff spot like we did during the dark ages.
Part of me feels like we've wasted this year chasing a ghost instead of worrying about development. Every decision we make is about making the playoffs.
Absolutely.I mean, it depends on who is there, obviously but the Rangers clearly need to take a hard look at their center depth.
Yes and Trouba isn't exactly a graybeardSo we spent 8 million on Trouba just to get another veteran defenseman?
Do we need somebody specifically old?Yes and Trouba isn't exactly a graybeard
You want to run 5 23-year-olds out there every night?Do we need somebody specifically old?
You want to run 5 23-year-olds out there every night?
Multiple NHL teams, including the Rangers, already do that and it works. You want to run 5 23-year-olds out there every night?
Teams need at least three 30+ year old semi-useless players to be successful because intangiblesYes.
And Trouba is 28 next year. How old do we need guys to be before they meet your arbitrary standard?
I do think there's some merit to not rushing one of these kids into an NHL slot just yet. You've even made the point yourself about Miller that these kids struggle to make the jump immediately to the NHL, and I don't see anyone else other than Nils who I'm confident in making the full-time jump next year. Tarmo probably can, but I don't see them running out a third pairing of Reunanen-Lundkvist next season. If I had to have a one-year transition defensive group, this is what I'd like to see:Yes.

He would be great. Going to have a lot of interest though. Coleman as wellOne guy I'd like to add to my wish list is Barclay Goodrow. Excellent on faceoffs, plenty of sandpaper, versatile. won't be ultra expensive.
I agree with that. If the kids look good enough let them play and win a spot. Could always sign a guy like Holden as a cheap 7 D with experience if they are truly worried. I don’t see them dropping big assets on a Elkholm for 2 years. He would be great. But the cost to get him wouldn’t be and it’s not the most important allocation of resources at this timeYes.

Chytil is excellent on the boards, is only three months older than Krav, and has shown exponentially more to this point in their careers. He was also one of just two or three players who looked good in the play in series last season. Why is he a "maybe" and Kravtsov an untouchable, exactly?
We could use a good shit-stirrer.They signed leadership and experience already though.
They can get more. They don't have to be $6mill+ players. Our bottom six is gonna be pretty bare next season if they sell off part of that veteran core and you could definitely sign a role player with some good playoff experience for cheap that slots better on those lines than all the kids and ahl tweeners we have on them now. They signed leadership and experience already though.
