It would be unconditional waivers for the purpose of buyout. The player has the option to accept waivers or not. If he declines, then they go right to the buy out. If he accepts waivers in the hopes that some other team takes him at full salary, he goes on waivers.

Guys with NMCs almost always decline the waiver option.

2.5 over, say 3m to get them signed, so 5.5 mil bare minimum needs to be shed. even with Beleskey buried. And an additional 4.8 for potential bonus coverage is also a concern.

It's funny how everyone throws out a different number for this type of stuff and they're almost always wrong

It's 1.075 mil. Anything over that counts against the cap. The number changes as the minimum salary changes.
