good job on the Bigras/Graves trade and good job not being able to trade Claesson even for a 7th rounder and good job wasting 2nd rounder on a gem goalie like Halverson.

literally every team has minor mistakes like these. Claesson is an average 7D. You gonna complain too if we didn’t get a Claesson level player with the 7th? Graves isn’t anything special either

Welp less than 24 hours now, until we draft a potential franchise forward. Really an incredible feeling and its something that I never thought would happen as a Rangers fan. What ever we end up doing trade wise tomorrow, we're coming out with the probable future face of the organization. Thinking of it that way makes me a lot less nervous about potential deals involving Kreiders and Veseys of the world. All that being said, it's hard to not trust Gorton at this point. The guy is poised, patient and has proved he is going to follow this rebuild all the way through, the right way. Here's to one hell of a day tomorrow!

Could this Claesson situation be that thing the Rangers do where they just let a guy go to pursue better opportunities (even though it's generally with euro players)?

Absolutely think so. If he can find a top six role you don't make it harder for him by holding out for a nonsense pick. But if he doesn't find a top six role maybe he re-signs in September. Were he older maybe they qualify him and he has a different role. But he's young enough to maybe carve out a better role elsewhere. But not good enough to own a major role with the Rangers going forward. Just my read on the situation anyhow.

Yeah. Now we get a cool 50k. Except it is 50k Zimbabwean dollars so in reality its like 9 cents.
