So many fixed feelings about this Kane trade. I'd prefer Drury to add on defense but guess Mikkola was/is the plan. At the same time im bumped too see Kane and Panarin together again.

We need a spark on offense. Kane is capable of being that spark. Scoring will force other teams to make mistakes and it helps the defense

"If you're a comics fans they peaked in the early 1990s and then Marvel drove Claremont away and gave more power to the artists...who in turn all left around 14 months later to start Image."

@Roo Returns Since I can't quote a post from a locked thread I just copy and pasted it above. I used to work at a comic shop for a couple of years as a second job. We would often talk about things such as this. Many guys thought the 90s werethe fall of comics, but I suspect that if you think that you were likely a large Marvel and DC fan. There are those of us, like myself, that would argue that the 90s was the beginning of the best times in comics and it has continued to today because of the rise in independent publishers and the growth in the indie market. While indie music was killed in the 90s, indie Comics were born. So to speak.

Also, collectors hate the 90s cause everybody was printing literal millions of copies of books and the collector value plummeted for books that these guys usually made money off of. Some of the regulars loved to complain about the 90s boom. Haha

Drury showed his cards too early...same as he did in Buch deal . He is going to have to get better at the GM game or it will be a short career for him.....shorter the better as far as I am concerned . We are running out of assets as a team and by the looks of things will be in the searching for RW help again next season......dog chasing tail show continues .

Depends on Lindgren's status. If he's going on LTIR it makes no sense to drag this out. If not then I could see it taking place on deadline day.
We currently have about 1.7 mil in cap space:

If Lindgren is put on LTIR today, that number only goes up to 3 mil. Kane is 2.625 mil.

If Leschyshyn is sent down or traded, that gives us enough cap space for 1 callup or addition.

If we wait until we have enough cap space to make the Kane deal, then put Lindgren on LTIR, we will still have 3 mil in cap space to use.

If Lindgren isn't out for the rest of the season, putting him on LTIR and then making the trade for Kane would be a very bad idea, as we'd be using LTIR space for Kane and wouldn't have enough space left to activate Lindgren.

Another consideration is that we will have performance bonuses to pay. Those can't be paid off via LTIR. If we don't have enough actual cap space left at the end of the year, those bonuses will be rolled over into next season.

Was listening to the NHL Network today in the car. They were talking Kane of course. The said, if Pat Kane comes to NY and they think he will, that he would be the best player on the Rangers. They said no disrespect to Zibanejad and Panarin etc, but Kane would be the best player in the entire lockeroom.

The board should do a Players poll. Curious to see where everyone would rank the team itself, the same way we vote on the prospects.

Best forward maybe.

The team runs through Fox.

I don’t subscribe to the notion that Kane is washed. He hasn’t played on a good team in years. 34 years old isn’t a death sentence for players. He’s got the credibility and hardware to come in and be “The Guy” and maybe that helps take some pressure off the rest of the team. I’m excited about the move.

The only thing that bothers me about Kane is if his injury will bother him.

Obviously he will be a top player on the team If it isn’t. But can he last into the later rounds of the playoffs? Those teams will know his injury and hit him hard

Have I missed something? Nothing I've read or hear has indicated it being a long term injury. Yes, he might have had a sling but if GG says it's nothing too serious, that should tell you something. He's not going to LTIR.
