Our season ended on May 18th, it’s June 24th and we’re still sitting here with literally nothing.
Can someone let Treliving know he needs to work?
Panicking when it's not even draft day is totally unnecessary. Our season ended on May 18th, it’s June 24th and we’re still sitting here with literally nothing.
Can someone let Treliving know he needs to work?
Biz thinks we're signing Marchand based on some source.
Not sure if he has any sources but I think he did call the Berube hiring before really anyone else.
4 x 9 seems like a terrible deal.
They could...t's tough to say on how any player ages or how well they are going to be, but suddenly Marchand at age 37 has a resurgence in the playoffs and was dominate. Elite players generally tend to be good/elite for a long time.
With Florida in that group, it's only been about four years since they had their 120-point season, if we're being specific.Yes, half the team's in the division have been bad, but on the flip side the Atlantic the past 7/8 years has been the hardest division. Tampa, Florida, Boston, Toronto have all pretty much been dominate.
3 team list for Hertl to be traded to.If its not Carolina, I think it may be Montreal
If it's straight $9m, yeah..4 x 9 seems like a terrible deal.
What's the difference, wouldn't it still be 9 against the cap?If it's straight $9m, yeah..
If it's bonus dependent, then it's more palatable.
who's on firstWho's plan?
You would kick the bonus money to the next year in overages, and with the cap going up, it would be less of a strain. What's the difference, wouldn't it still be 9 against the cap?
Really? I'd beg to differ. I'd say age 27-33 is their prime window. Know the league, know how to play both ends of the ice. Stronger etc.Uhh no. They've been squarely in their prime for a long time, and are closer to exiting their primes than entering them.
Don't let me get in the way of your optimism though - by all means feel that way.
If its a performance bonus it can be pushed to next season if the team is at the cap. What's the difference, wouldn't it still be 9 against the cap?
Thanks, admittedly I don't know much about the various cap rules. You would kick the bonus money to the next year in overages, and with the cap going up, it would be less of a strain.
Also, if he doesn't achieve the bonus, for whatever reason, the cap hit will hopefully be less of an issue because if it's an injury issue, I don't think we can bury him on LTIR, given that he signed over the age of 35.
Absolutely. Thanks, admittedly I don't know much about the various cap rules.
Wouldn't Marchand have enough suitors that he wouldn't need to sign anything but a guaranteed contract?
3 team player list that Hertl can get traded too. If Toronto isn't on that list, what can you do... If Toronto is on that list, then they most definitely should be kicking tires on him.How are the Leafs not in on Hertl??
$9 mill AAV for Marchand over 4 years??
Wtf is Brad doing? If the Canes get him for nothing then I’m on the fire Treviling wagon.
