If this team once again fails to proceed very far in the playoffs, what would you want them to do?

Who's playoff are we not disappointed in?

The difference between Knies and the rest of the fraud 4 is he actually plays a physical brand of hockey that successful teams love
Knies concussion history worries me.
I'd flip him to the Rangers for Lafrenière, and try to expand the deal to also get Miller with one of our older LHD McCabe/OEL.

why do i get the feeling they are going to let Marner walk and then we are going to talk about filling that hole all year long...scoring, pk, pp specialist ....trying and nickle an dime those pieces individually

I personally dont believe Rielly is as bad as ya'll do, but if Calgary retains a million or two on Huberdeau I'd bet on him being more useful for the money than Rielly is. I wouldn't need a piece like Andersson coming back as compensation if there's slight retention.

The more I think about it, the more I think Huberdeau taking Marner's place would work. Matthews is a much better goal scorer than Tippett/Duclair who Huberdeau had success with, Domi can play like a poor man's Bennett there. Huberdeau is also great on the PP.

In Calgary he hasnt had anyone to play with, and nobody even on another line to take away matchups. If he plays with Matthews, then teams will have to decide between that line or a Knies-Nylander line to shut down.

Oh absolutely. Danault would be a perfect get but he's not available for anything Toronto would give

The thing with Rielly is that I personally think that he has hit his peak and is now on the down swing.

He's still an NHL defender, but the quality of his play diminished throughout the season and likely isn't going to improve a lot over the next couple years, especially if the Leafs window is right now and closing.

With the Ducks acquiring another C, this makes one of my under-the-radar targets, Isac Lundestrom, seemingly more available.

A very good skater center, with some interesting defensive numbers in terms of usage and still relatively young.

Obviously it's wishful thinking considering the odds of the Flames making a deal with the Leafs is very slim, but with the Flames looking at trading Andersson, I really hope Treliving atleast makes an effort.

To Toronto-
Rasmus Andersson
Martin Pospisil

To Calgary-
Bobby Mcmann
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Ben Danford

I've heard he might not be tendered but he's kinda there...hasn't made himself stand out in anyway, is that much different than how Holmberg sounds?

By the look of it, better skater, better shot, has had injury issues rather than just being "meh" like Holmberg.

He could very well be similar, but you've got to take some chances.

Oel was maybe their best dman last year . Signed in Toronto cause he wanted to play there and the challenge. I hope they don’t trade him

McCann can still be a bargain , on a team that needs bargains

Love the idea of acquiring Andersson but don’t like this package

Mangiapane is probably a fine option with a bit of track record to suggest he could keep up as a complementary part on the second or third line.
But he didn’t outproduce NickRob last year so that could be a head-to-head to watch, and he is a little lighter in tools.
Buy lows are fine, but am hoping for a mix of skills and abilities.

Shouldn’t really be a surprise that there’s a market for Max. And even Kampf.
There’s lots of money around and C’s are always handy.
