Maybe a 4th...or we could use our extra 5th with Robertson to get a better pick but since he's been scratched, I would say it's over.

My preference would be a player, who is younger than Robertson, but similar type upside... The team making the trade gets a more ready player... assuming they have a roster that could use Robertson, so they speed up their timeline. We get another shot with someone on a longer trajectory. Two players who could use a scenery change.

Sharks could use some scoring, being bottom in the league last year... and I could see the Leafs trying to collect all the London Knights and asking for Kasper Halttunen. I don't think he has the upside of Robertson in scoring, but he's got a big body, and time on his side. Sharks also have a lot of LD in their system, but not as many RD, so I could see them having interest in Niemela added to the deal.

If Marner signed for 12ish, I wonder if we could get Knies 4x7 and Tavares 4x6. Keeps a bit of space for another top 9 upgrade. Knies stays rfa at end and can cash in big on an 8 year deal then with Tavares money freed.

Corranto just signed in a high tax Canadian market for 7 x 6.5 coming off a 24 g 47 pt season.

Knies would be above that. But not by a ton I wouldn’t think…… maybe 7.5 x 6?

I am hoping for 3-5ths for Robbie, Jarnkrok, Kampf, holmberg, whomever we are getting rid of. Recoup draft capital for 2026. I love the Carlo deal. Laughton has been ok. But I don’t see why we got the draft guru just to trade a ton of picks

Nick Robertson will still be a RFA this offseason, but I doubt he's in the teams future plans. I do wonder if they will trade him for something, or just not extend an offer to him. From an asset management perspective, it would make sense to get something for him... anything really at this point. I also doubt Nick wants to come back at this point, so he'll welcome change.

With a new head scout, there might be a player they can do a 1 for 1 swap for that they've liked, maybe from the Stars.

But yeah it's more likely he's given his shot somewhere else for a pick. I can even see him go unqualified, but that would be terrible asset management.
