You were talking Provorov? That was referencing Tavares not Bennett
Because when Philly gave him that they thought he was going to grow into a #1D, he's probably a #3D and I'm sure somebody will throw money at him but 7M+ is a lot for a #3DHe is 28 and is making 6.75 right now, why would he take a paycut with a rising cap?
Oh sorry you didn't highlight that conversation so was unsure. You were talking Provorov?
Not much other than stat watching the past couple of years, odd write-ups.Upcoming UFA - Roslovic
20 goals as a 3rd/4th liner is excellent
6’1 but don’t know much more about him. Anyone?

Definitely can't have both him and Domi on the roster. One or the other. At $2.8 mil he's been reasonably good value. He's kind of a vanilla player. Despite decent size, he provides no physicality. He was given the opportunity to be a 2/3 C in Columbus a few years ago, and wasn't good enough defensively to solidify that role. He is relatively sheltered defensively, with a lot of starts in the Ozone, which is what you need to do with him. I’d say he’s a lot like Domi in terms of utility, lack of physicality, not great defensively, about the same production in points, but more goals. Can we afford another weak defensive winger in that price range? He’s paid less than Domi, as he missed a lot of time the year before and needed up having to sign a one year deal later on.

What’s the fascination with Provorov? His homophobia would be a huge distraction in a market like Toronto.

The distraction and character issues aside, he's the best LD available as a UFA this year.
I don't think he is homophobic, I think he was towing the country line and not wanting to endanger any family that may be in Russia.
It's a tough situation to be in.
You might be right, but no matter the motivation, it has the potential to be an issue. Who knows though, most of this stuff blows over quickly, and we are on to the next outrage issue.
Didn't Samsonov not wear the jersey or was it that the league basically said forget it in regards to pride night?
Did Gavrikov re-sign with the Kings?
If not, target him. Looked excellent in Doughty's absence.
Trade Reilly. Sign Gavrikov.
I hear ya. But I look at it like it's a lateral with Reilly's offence at present and an upgrade at defence. He hasn't been extended at this point. We lack offense from the D already, that's going to make it worse, though I do really like the player.
Not lateral at all it’s a better move for us we have forwards we pay a ton to produce we need dman that will play d and can move the puccI hear ya. But I look at it like it's a lateral with Reilly's offence at present and an upgrade at defence.
Nothing ground breaking, but interesting but about JT.
Also I'm pretty sure Mirtle had said a little while ago there was potential talks about extending Lorentz during the season, so curious if theres a particular reason for the wait
