Canucks might have a chance at free agents if they do not re-up the Sedins. I'm only referencing cap space. If so, they might attract somebody useful but will they understand? It's iffy.
Ahhh, Leafs fans are ramping up on Tanev proposals again. These are always good
Correct, thats a fair bit of dough coming off of the books....cap space is not going to be a problem if management plays their cards right..Canucks might have a chance at free agents if they do not re-up the Sedins. If Jimbo somehow sticks around I could see $7-8M used on RFA raises, $1-2M for Gudbranson raise/re-signing, and then $6-7M thrown at Rick Nash/Evander Kane.Correct, thats a fair bit of dough coming off of the books....cap space is not going to be a problem if management plays their cards right..
If the Sedins do retire, it would make some sense to go after a #2C as it would be a lot of pressure on Pettersson to step right into that role, and I'm not convinced any of Granlund, Sutter, Burmistrov, Gagner or Gaunce can handle that role. We are pretty loaded on the wings, but not so much at C.

Absolutely, and Pettersson should be ready for it.

Sutter+Guddy 50% for RNHI'm not sure that he will be. I'd like to see him on NA ice for a year, in the AHL, before he is graduated.
A trade for a 2C may be a good idea.
I think this is why they are looking for a "versatile forward". Athanasiou's name has been bandied about. I threw out RNH's name a while ago. Galchenyuk would be interesting. Turris is also set to become FA this offseason...
There are options. The ideal would be to somehow convert Gudbranson and/or Sutter into that player. Ideally, anyway.

Agree,,ease him into the line up.Should happen this year. Plan for EP should be to come over in February or so, play in the ahl for a bit and then take it from there.
Of course Dahlen should be in the ahl right now so they probably Willl **** this up too.

Benning's not a fan of Tavares. It's a skater's league, don't you know? I suspect he is basing his entire off season on obtaining Kane. I don't think there is any question Kane will be a Canuck next year. Think 6 years, $7M per.we should get kane + tavares next season so we have a real chance at a cup.
