So will leafs tv still be doing games? Or did they pretty much get ousted by this deal? If they're still doing a few games I'd have to assume Bowen would be on their crew.

Sweet mother of god he is awful. He comes off like a 10 year old that just ate a plie of candy before each broadcast.
Personalities like Glenn Healy are there exactly because they say controversial (dumb) things that make people talk about him. Create attention. If everybody was like Elliott Friedman, for example, wouldn't it be really bland?
It's because they take the league minimumDo you know why they bring back Healey and Hrudy?
Because they are going to get reaction out of them and cause people to talk about the product. ALL good news for Rogers.
To be honest, I'm going to listen to their analysis and may pick up some things, but I'm watching the game because of the Maple Leafs and not some announcer. You can always mute the TV too.
it would be cool if they broadcast games on a second station and just used ice mics. so if TSN had the game on their main station, maybe TSN 4 could broadcast it without any commentary.
i would probably watch the game with the commentators more, but i think if i was having a bunch of people over, we don't really need the commentary (we provide our own). and i think it would be a lot better for bars too (since a lot of places don't even turn the sound up enough to hear the commentators anyways).
Exactly my thoughts. I would recommend it to anyone. Made games that would've been on CBC 100x more tolerable (I wasn't crazy about Bowen/Millen either). Plus it's just interesting to hear things from the other team's perspective.Thank god for away streams on Hockeystreams... wow that is terrible.
If you have surround sound, just unplug your centre speaker and bang, no commentary.
