I had a laugh when they asked about what new features/bells and whistles they could add over the next 12 years and they talked about how they said:
- They added cable cams and on ice cameras during the 4 Nations
- Their innovation strategy over the last 5 years has been focusing on how to get the games on as many screens as possible
- They think the app is pretty good (also said they launched North Americas first live streaming service for hockey... which I think is a lie? The NHL preceded them).

Awful.

Other than that they said they would continue to sublicense.

Hope you like games on Sportsnet 'cause...

I have subscription to Sportsnet. Because of Blue Jays. They showing Thursday game against the Bruins. But Habs games on there are few and far in between

Fewer blackouts sounds good.

I don't get why they just go exclusively here though. Why not just give some games to TSN?
I'm unfamiliar with the new deal. Do you know if we are losing regional TSN broadcasts? Is it Rogers only? If it is, it would not be great for us in Atlantic Canada, 90 percent of our Habs games are only available on TSN.

It’s too bad that TSN took a nose dive. Was anyone else even interested?

ESPN kicked the tires on this I'm sure, but they just didn't want it enough compared to Sportsnet.

Bell Media/TSN didn't want to/couldn't sink the kind of money it would have taken to get national rights.

And the rest, as they say, is history. Or rather, the coming 12 years after 2026.

/Shrug. The game was rigged from the get go... As part of the previous deal, Rogers had one year of exclusive negotiation right with the NHL to come up with a new deal. Interested or not, no one else was allowed to sit at the table.

Not sure why nhl only wants one group to hold all the tv rights in Canada. Seems other sports split the national rights between more than one group.
