Imagine thinking a kid who has no idea who you even are besides recognizing the name should bow down and kiss the ring.

JR was a hell of a player but he really sucks as a guy.
Plus, his Blackhawks return is VERY recent. He had nothing to do with the Hawks for decades. He has been back basically since his stupid ass mouth cost him his TV job.

Seriously what a little bitch for going public over something so petty. JR comes off like a complete loser here per usual. Wtf is wrong with that guy. Great player....shitty person. Too bad....what can ya do. Other than be glad that Bedard is nothing like that guy.

Chelios and Roenick should just shut the f*** up. They are lucky to be standing with Savard. He's more of a Blackhawk than either of them, who became "Blackhawks" again when it was convenient. I couldn't give a f*** what either of those assholes says, truth be told. Savvy is in an entirely different class from them.

Yep, I would have retired jerseys for many before Chelios. Not counting the recently retired players from the Cup era I would have put Larmer and Wilson ahead of him.

Wow I'm honestly surprised by the vitriol towards JR in this thread.
Love him or more frequently hate him ( apparently ) JR is an unabashed communicator of how he feels in the moment with no filters. I found his HOF acceptance speech to be quite honest and entertaining and here we have him expressing his honest opinion yet again. This just looks like the old guard mentality of the young need to show respect to the elders or those who have come before. Not such a biggy really. Bedard does need to mature and learn as any 19 year old does and our current generation of youth perhaps need this as much or maybe even more than any before them given the different world in which they are living in. How about we give JR and Bedard a little wiggle room to be who they are and let things find their way without adding any further negativity to an already overly saturated world of such. My 2 c.

Really? He took a perceived slight and announced it to the internet. He's announcing that Bedard should step up to him... That's something a chick does
From what I can see he was including Chelios and Savard in who Bedard didn't walk up to say hi and acknowledge ...it doesn't come across to me that it was a big deal to JR but worth mentioning in that from his viewpoint those who have come before along with those there now are all part of the Blackhawk family and family shows respect to their elders. It's just how he sees it .. right or wrong, my point is the responses in this thread come across to me as a tad over the top in their negative tone towards JR for being honest about his perspective.

Again, I wonder if his perspective was the same his first couple of years in the league. I can't see PR genuflecting to those who came before, the way he expects Bedard to.

Well - when you say stuff like this: "these are the things that have to change in Chicago in order for them to start winning" you deserve criticism. He has to kiss the ring if they want to start winning?....this guys ego is out of control.

Probably because JR has been an asshole and a douche his entire life, so he gets no benefit of the doubt.

You saying the 19yo needs to become more mature and show respect for his elders is ironic considering your going up to bat for a 54yo JR who you admit says whatever he wants, no filters.

So you want the 19yo to act like the adult here? Not the guy who is nearly 3 times older? One of these guys does need to be more mature, but it's not who you think it is.

The Olds have major logic malfunctions. It's all the lead they consumed (It is a real thing, look it up).
