Pre-Game Talk: Rodrigue Time

I can't wait to see what we have in Ollie. His numbers were stellar in his previous two AHL seasons. This one...not so much. But he did look spectacular in that one period vs Seattle and stopped what would otherwise be two auto-goals. This team desperately needs some hope, though I'm feeling a lot more confident in Pickard after his last four performances.

Oilers are calling Brochu up for tomorrow?

They should at least get him signed. He's been on such a crazy heater lately and seems to have vastly outplayed the guy they actually do have under contract in the ECHL.

Glad for the kid getting a start. 2nd place is pretty much gonzo with the loss yesterday, and considering all our injuries now. So might as well just rest players and get some players get their beaks wet before the playoffs. Standings don't matter anymore, so just get healthy.

Shut Drai, and McDavid down for another 10 days or so, and let them get maybe the last 2 games of the season in to get back up to speed. Put Ekholm on LTIR and then let Kane get some games in. Let Frederic sit for another 10 days as well, as he clearly didn't look 100% in yesterdays game.

If anybody else has any little thing that is nagging them, give them time off as well. Basically shut it down completely.

His dad is a good goalie coach who is no longer with the organization- that’s probably the largest cause

Not to mention the guy who most likely turned Skinner into a legit (regular season) starter in his first year. We didn't just lose genuine on-ice talents like Holloway, McLeod, Foegele, and Broberg in the offseason, we also lost our best bet to save our netminding...

At this point the only way to remove Schwartz from the day to day handling of goalies is to actually promote him to an executive office position like Director of Goaltending Personnel or some made up BS like that.

If the organization doesn’t want to fire him they should just do that instead.

Oh, yes, the Kevin Lowe/Bob Nicholson solution. I love that idea. Executive Vice Alternate Senior Governing Director of Supervisory Player Relations and Goaltending Consulting Coordinator has a nice ring to it. Make it 100% remote as well.

They could dress him up in the Hunter costume and rent his services out for kids parties and such.

Oh wait, what’s Bobby Nicks do then?

Ah yes, the Peter principle. Probably the only way
