I thought the same thing but I assume the ownership wants no liability of keeping an arena full of people should a Cat 5 hit that arena. Tough call either way.

According to an interview of the man mowing, the tornado is moving away from him. His wife took the picture as she tried to convince him to come inside. She posted it to her Facebook and it went viral on social media. Believe this happened in Saskatchewan.

The 2021 U18s were held in Texas, they were moved there for Covid reasons, in one of the games sirens could be heard going off outside the arena. I could hear them. I'm like, why are there air raid sirens going off? The PBP guy casually announced they were going off for a tornado warning.

The game never stopped, the few fans never left the building, it was quite surreal.
