Pilut blocking shots, Passolt gets smoked...mass hysteria. Christiansen leapt into the hit on Passolt on replay. That's some headhunting.
 
Weird that they are playing Khachaturian's Sabre Dance in the arena in a game against the Sabres' farm team. But PA guys... they're odd ducks.

Since the goal we’ve had Murray straight up held to stop an odd man rush and Passolt getting hit high by a leaping Monster player.

In case anyone thinks the refs have improved.
 
Players get penalized and coaches get fined for criticizing officials…so allow me.

the officiating I’ve seen this weekend in Amerks games is maybe the worst I’ve seen in four plus decades of watching hockey. And I just watched that Sabres season. I genuinely hope that these refs are on the take or just three groups of completely biased people…because it’s better than the alternative. If these three games were called what they see as fair…there is a far bigger problem. These men would have to be so incapable of doing the job theyve trained for and worked at for years that they would be incapable of doing anything else at all. I don’t know how they manage to get dressed.

This is more Calgary Stampede than hockey at the moment - lots of rodeo with Monsters reaching on a bunch of Amerks.
 
Curious who went to shake hands with Brett Gallant at the end of the game. I wonder if Gallant's retiring, but I don't know of anyone whose played with him on the Amerks (searching EP, none found).

Eh, a lot of those wins were at the start of the year though. Barre-Boulet seems to rip them up. Luckily Raddysh is up with the Lightning.

Amerks winger Matej Pekar provided some on-ice hilarity with 7:25, after drawing a penalty for the second time in the third period.

As a scrum was broken up and Pekar headed to the Amerks bench, Sokolov kept yapping. Pekar turned and, using his stick like a golf club, imitated a teeing off motion.

That’s perhaps why the third-year winger draws the ire of opponents.

“He’s an agitant,” Appert said. “He did a good job drawing penalties. He did a good job keeping his cool and goading them into punching him in the face. The power play was good early but it wasn’t good enough late when we got those opportunities.”
