Happy with the lead, but...

We're in this 4 game stretch in 16 or less shots through 2 period.

Puck possession and SOG are like pulling teeth for them.

Cederqvist gets called for tripping - high level of difficulty on that dive by Charlotte.

The Pilut steps up to flatten his check again. Someone tell Lawrence to start working on that or what? He's had a couple of excellent ones.

This team gives up so many 2v1s

Similarly, I'm amazed by how they can completely botch d-zone play and turn something simple into a high danger chance against. And it would be interesting to see how many cross slot passes they allow compared to other AHL teams because it's a f***ing ton from casual viewing.

ENG against as it goes in off the post. That was the Checkers' 40th shot. Subban's been their best player.

I'm beginning to wonder if they will need help from others in their division to make the playoffs.

Bummer. Seems like this might be it for Matej in the Sabres organization, being his second trip down to Cincinnati.

He seems like a great guy based on the stuff I saw this past summer around Sabres development camp or the Prospect Challenge. I can't remember which one. When drafted, he looked like a guy who might have a future in an agitator/energy role, and his days in juniors certainly bore that out. But once he hit the AHL and injured his shoulders, it was a different story.

I feel badly for him and wish him well wherever he might end up.

He needs to play. Even though it seems like he's been around forever, he's only got 88 pro games to his name and while he may not amount to much, to get more out of him, he has to see game situations. Being in the pressbox in Rochester won't help there.
