04-05 they had Vanek, Roy, Pommers, Miller, Goose, etc...it's a shame they got knocked out in the first round that year. If I remember correctly, they were insanely good in the regular season. I feel like injuries derailed their playoff run, but I could be conflating the Sabres in the ECF of 05-06 with the Amerks playoffs.

That was the lockout year, though. Honestly, we could see 5 to 6 guys next year on this team that are capable of NHL once junior teams are knocked out.
