Rochester Americans and Jacksonville Icemen 2024 Season Thread.

Murray from Ostund. Dozed off and missed the Helenius Huuhtanen coincidental roughing calls. 2-1 after two.
Basically a Syracuse net front shoving match that neither would walk away from. Then Huuhtanen put Helenius in a headlock as they went to the ice. Helenius slipped it and employed a headlock of his own until they were separated. Going up against 6'3" and 200, but Konsta didn't give an inch.

Leone from this morning -

- Helenius "playing the best hockey of the year right now".
- Wahlberg "earned" the move to center, played well there.
- Ostlund's outcomes speaking for itself.
- Commends his room for having a lot of players who hate to lose.
- Praise for continuing to carry play even without the five different recalls last month. Not "just hanging on".
- Praise for his depth guys for playing up. *THAT one sticks out to me, his depth guys are just a machine, not just in the lineup to be in the lineup.
- Kopff to debut tonight, practice well, Leone likes that he's there early and puts in the work.

Pro tip for other sickos out there. The FloHockey app on android allows you to watch a couple minutes at a time with no sound without signing up. All you have to do is swipe to the next game and swipe back and you can keep watching.

Edit: the downside to doing this is that apparently it causes the other team to score repeatedly. 2-1 bad guys.

Wahly in tight on the backhand, tie game!

Second assist of the night for both Slaggert and Warren. That line has both Amerk goals with Wahlberg at center.

Only had one eye on the game - Leone did not like the early defense but applauds that they found a way to win.

Kopff had his debut, now only the 2nd Amerk who hasn't picked up a 5-on-5 point who has dressed for them -- Laaouan in his one game up on emergency recall is the other -- 28 guys have at least one point for them which is still fascinating to me.

How has Felix Sandström been this season? Rumored to the shl.

Going off the basic counting stats he's put up, he has been a solid #2 behind Levi.

Personal best 9-game winning streak. He's been solid, no complaints, plenty of quality starts as the backup.

Edit - he did take some time away to return to Sweden for a personal matter. It didn't come out what it may have been, but he picked right back up being good in net afterward.

Fiddler-Schultz on the PP 38 seconds in.

Helenius picks up his 10th. Because he absolutely owns Belleville. 10 points leads the Amherst and scoring against the baby Sens .

Just dropping a note here that in last nights Baker-Fairburn Podcast they both think Brannstrom will be off to Europe this summer. fyi

Looks like Jax will be rewarded for being one of the best teams in the entire ECHL by... opening as the road team against three-time Champion Florida.
