Rochester Americans and Jacksonville Icemen 2024 Season Thread.

Per the broadcast yesterday, Rathbone is injured but is close to being able to play. Still haven't seen any mention of MacArthur being recalled other than EP has moved him from the Icemen's roster to the Amerks' roster.

By all accounts, Sardarian was a stud at Mich Tech. Why not offer him a contract? Get another body in Rochester?
Ultimately, the CCHA isn't a very good league anymore since the bigger schools broke off into the Big Ten and NCHC. An AHL caliber player should be completely dominating that level, and I'm not sure 1.0 PPG and a so-so +/- fits the bill - I suspect Buffalo wants him to go back for his senior season and try to build on this past season.

Dunne returned today, per the transactions page on the AHL website. MacArthur played for Jax on Wednesday so I would expect that EP's notation that he was in Rochester will revert back to Jax.

Six-0 final, Levi with his sixth shutout. Slaggert had the other goal - good night for the depth guys to all get back in the mix they’ve got a home and HOME with Syracuse coming up tomorrow and Sunday
How's Levi coming along? I've noticed you've been a bit down on him at times. Do you think he can be a 1b next year? I haven't been to any games this year, unfortunately.

I would like to say all is rosy but I am not sure there has been much improvement in his rebound control which I think is his biggest NHL issue. He's got great reflexes and his quickness and lateral movement are top notch. But he's had a couple lulls and the recent one here -

... had some clunky, clunky games. To point fingers and lay blame, he lost them both games in Laval IMO. There were some real turds in those GA (4 I would like him to stop) against the team they are trying to catch for the division lead. It bothered me, probably more than it should.

Nice. Since January 10th, Ostund's stat line:

GP: 29
G: 15
A: 14
Pts: 29
+17

It's interesting watching his production go from being helping Rosen's heater to being the guy making it happen on his own. Like, is there some Aho there? There might be some Aho there. And I don't want to be excited because it's the Sabres but man... would that be nice.

just a good guess but asking, odds he's a 1C in 5 years, 30 % ?

Underway in Syracuse -

Running 11-7 with Prow drawing in. Wahlberg at 3C is new but with a shortened group of forwards, I expect they will get rotated around a lot. Helenius as RW2 tonight beside Jobst at center and Rousek at LW.

Brannstrom!

Amerks kill a penalty to Wahlberg. He comes out of the box, does a corner shoot in that Ostlund recovers but gets buried passing it to Jobst. Jobst cuts to the net and on the rebound Brannstrom buries another, his fifth as an Amerk.

Wardog! Warren gets a free look on a loose puck in the circle and gets his 9th (first in 18 games) on a slapper that dribbles through Halverson's five hole. Wahlberg and Komarov get the helpers.
