Rochester Americans and Jacksonville Icemen 2024 Season Thread.

Murray initially too unselfish trying to get Ostlund the puck on an empty net rush. Buries it the next chance he gets, now 6-3. Bridgeport now with 11 loses in a row on home ice.

It’s Affiliate Night here in Jacksonville. They’re calling themselves the IceBuffaloes and wearing a goathead inspired jersey.

Lots of Sabres jerseys in the crowd and already a bad disallowed goal early. Just like the big guys.

I'll be up on Wednesday, couldn't make it happen today. And yes, that Savoie on Greenville is Matt's older brother Carter.

Leone was on Sabres Live this afternoon. Anyone with a recap?
Not sure about Sabres Live, but LGA585 gave a recap from his press conference:

Wahlberg playing tonight.

Helenius playing Saturday.

Possibly only 2/3 for each next weekend.

Leo said being smart and giving them time to adjust back based on sports sciene while comparing to Kulichs burnout and avoiding it.

Jagger Joshua also playing tonight!

Now for the not so good Amerks news - Viktor Neuchev is out week to week with an upper body injury. Leo said, "there'll be some time still before he comes back." Sometime after the All-Star break.

***********

Leone also said in his press conference that they told Helenius and Wahlberg to stay away from the rink until Thursday and that Kisakov earned another game.

Thanks. I haven’t circled back through YT to pick up any Amerks content from today. I will now speculate that needing to be helped from the ice was due to Neuchev being concussed. :(

Kisakov just keeps scoring when in the lineup. Not sure if it is a body mass thing or something else.

Coach Leo also said this about Kisakov. Maybe your answer is in there somewhere. Or if you read between the lines.

"He just has to go play, and not really give them too much and trust his instincts. Don't worry about mistakes and just go out there and play your game."

Komarov just got blind-sided after a pinch and had to be helped at the bench. "Incidental" on purpose hit to the head.

Chris Grando with two more goals (five in his last four periods), Nadeau with 2 primary assists, JAX up 2-1 on Atlanta after 1.

Komarov pretty spry on a pinch, tried a wrap around.

Levi just stoned Legare in tight.

Rochester can't seem to stay out of the box tonight.

Man, Novikov gets up in the play for a defensive defenseman. Some interesting moments on the PK where he was going 1-vs-3 to Poulter's right... and got two shots.

He then labelled his check coming back into the defensive zone like the Comet had said something about Novikov's mom.

No assist for Nadeau but he seals the defenseman away from getting to Van Wyhe who is again playing center. Grando with his seven point in two games.

Most comfortable Ostlund has looked in my viewings since he returned. Poulter is under siege here in the second and keeping it tied.
