Amerks at Monsters tonight at 7 PM.

From Duff:

Ostlund who has missed 2 games is out week to week with an upper body injury.

Kozak is out day to day with a lower body injury.

Kulich and Kisakov draw into the lineup.

Tough break for Kozak AGAIN. *sigh*

***
Also (from Joe Yerdon): Kevin Dineen fired as Utica's head coach after a 0-8-1 start.

Not a surprise. They are a mess.

Cuelemans "scores" off his skate while Rosen is dumping his ass beside Sandstrom, goal under review.

Edit - goal overturned. Heh. 4-1 remains the score.

Novikov gets a breakaway and misses the net. It wasn't a situation where he was coming out of the box... defended the blueline and just took off. That lad moves really well in a straight line.

How is Helenius playing? I know he’s scored in three straight…but I haven’t watched a game because I’m not in the Flosports business and the AHL abandoned me

Mateychuk scores on the PP in the final minute, 4-2 final.

Amerks have won 10 out of 11 road games going back to last season.

Sandstrom looked solid. Rosen up to 5 game point streak. Metsa with 2 assists tonight. Amerks put 48 shots on Greaves and it seemed like they responded to any attempts to get physical with them.

So far, pretty good but still a lot more to learn. First star tonight in Cleveland. He puts himself into positions where he's getting hit and while I think he likes the contact aspect, it's going to wear him down IMO. The adaptation is coming along. That top line is three first rounders now with Rosen and Kulich on the wings and they were humming.

I made the mistake of seeing the "just xyz dollars per month" for the hockey package and thought I would be billed monthly. Nope. They took the whole thing. Not what I wanted to pay for...

They look dominant through 9. Goaltending remains a question though

The defensive zone play is much better right now than it was in any early season under Appert. They are back, they seem to be in lanes and get onto people with support. They swarm but don't get out of position. It's fun to watch.

In other news, I'm going to the Icemen game tonight. Some weird things for them so far -

Fewest games played in the conference - tied for least with only 4.
Fewest points in the conference - tied with Greenville with only 3.

Hopefully this is like the last few years when I go and then they go on a run. I wonder if the 5-6 healthy scratches in Rochester get cycled down to start helping out on the farm. Fiddler-Schultz and Poolman in particular are the guys I could see being a big help.
