He’s mentioned many times over the years being watched and judged by the audience and what a nightmare being on display for people. The Hockey Wolrd seems like a hostile place to him, he’s always resented the money and dealings and contracts and he mentions it again.

Good luck Robin, you still have lots of fans in Ottawa.

I still love the guy, he's in my name for a reason. I used to play blackops back in the day with him and Andre Petersson when they were in Bingo. He was super quiet in the gamechat unlike Andre and would rage very easily lol but he was also very nice otherwise in minimal convo. I also knew his aunt-- who was extremellly supportive of him.

I feel he was in a good place with support until he became a professional and then what he was already dealing with exacerbating and went out of control in a hostile, professional environment.

I have nothing but sympathy for Robin. He never really had a chance to be normal or for things to feel “easy”. Not easy to manage no matter what, but especially difficult as a public figure in a high-pressure role.

Not to point fingers his Dad sounded kinda dark, no name on this Citizen article unfortunately, pretty scary and a cautionary tale for all parents:

But Lehner’s road to the NHL wasn’t a smooth one, and can even be viewed as a cautionary tale: How much can a young player be pushed on the road to development? The storyline is simple: Once Michael Lehner brought the new equipment home, he pushed his son so hard that only today are they beginning to enjoy a normal father-son relationship.

It wasn’t father-son growing up. It was father-coach. Their neighbours and other hockey parents in Sweden thought that Michael Lehner was a lunatic for the way he drove his son, especially with the way the puck machine would go on and on and on, seemingly day and night, and it was troubling for his mother Veronica, who often had to act as buffer between father and son.

That was the start of a unique relationship, with Michael using Robin as the guinea pig for drills he would use with Lundqvist,

Yes, it was well documented how harsh Lehner's father was on him.

Hope he's doing alright, that last social media post reads like a cry for help.
I read it like he is taking responsibility for being a dick to his family but is still angry with the Knights (certain people) who railroaded him. Sometimes people just don't fit into groups and they alienate themselves more with their actions.
