It's an interesting social media phenomenon. They made some comments and got a lot of pushback online (which they've said themselves), which makes them double down even more and harden their position.
They didn’t same thing with Liljegren . I even got blocked by Bourne because I let him have it regarding his trashing of him every freaking show a couple years ago.

Yes recall Doug MacLean, he simply couldn't his outdated takes on the guy. They get stubborn when challenged. The Leafs after game podcast with Sam McKee and Bunkis has turned into an obsession bashing Robertson and they're now mocking fans for daring to call out their bs.

Not sure why all da commotion .. he is not even close to Bert or Knies in his play .. his skating is tooo slow .. and Gregor is much faster, can play a solid D and is a PKer .. so it comes down to him or Pontus really .. and clearly Keefer thinks more of Pontus right now .. to me it is an either/or scenario .. if Nick wans to play more he needs to improve his skating which really holds him back .. shooting da puck is only 1 skill and we got lots of that skill on da team

Think it has more to do with Holmberg being relatively effective and Keefe trusts him. Can Gregor to that.

It’s a good question. He’s done fine with sheltered minutes but playing good in sheltered roles doesn’t always translate to better production when moved up. I would give him a 3-5 games to see.
Keefe wants his bottom lines to be excellent defensively. Holmberg > Robertson in that respect.
Remember when Keefe said last year Holmberg is almost perfect and never makes mistake? He didn’t even sniff the playoff lineup, word is that he gets complacent after a while. I’m fine with having a battle between Holmberg and Robertson. Can we please stop this nonsense talk about the third line needing to be the shut down line. That doesn’t work regardless of who the LW is when DOMI is playing 3C.

All I know is the third line looks better and creates more dangerous chances when robertson is in there.
I want Holmberg to actually make Kampf obsolete so he can be traded... not Robertson.

My guess is the reason Robertson's being scratched is because he's getting traded.
This is the healthiest the kid's ever been. If he gets hurt again his value will be zero. The Leafs need to make sure all chips are available this deadline.
They can't afford to screw this up.
The team is teetering around .500. As a result the rumour now is their deadline strategy this year is to do nothing and see how things work out. Hoping all these overpaid stars might suddenly do something totally different than they've ever done before.
If that doesn't work just run it all back again next year.
While throwing even more money at the same players who failed so many times already. Maybe next year they'll prove themselves worthy of trading a "never was" for a "has been". That would include Nick Robertson for, well, pretty much anyone who can stay healthy.

Honestly if we trade him I get it but I would much rather keep him he’s cost controlled and he produces they should put him in the top 6 with Willy abut at the very least build a third line around him maybe find a strong defensive right winger to play with him and domi drop jarnkrok on the fourth line for a shut down line im actually fine with trading bert instead get rid of the short term guys and build continuity

If they don't go all in this year the fans should be howling in the streets.
It would mean they don't think this core is good enough to waste assets on trying to pump them up for a deep playoff run. This same core that consists of two guys they just re-signed to record breaking deals. The same core that Shanahan bet his career on running it all back yet again after last year's playoffs fiasco.
The Leafs should be getting the best player(s) available regardless of cost or they're gonna look pretty foolish if they don't.
It seems like they won't go all in this year.
I don’t necessarily agree that we have to go all in or we don’t believe in the core that’s the reason we’re this flawed of a roster if we can get larsson make that trade for sure but we need to build a better team to win plugging holes isn’t the way to go I feel more confident next year when contracts are off the books so we can build a better dcore Brodie getting 5 mil when he can’t play top pair minutes while receiving 7.5 in real money is a hindrance
