Before the injury: 2 points in 14 games

After: 4 points in 5 games

Even though he wasn't scoring earlier in the season, he was noticable in good ways. That has continued but the scoring is now coming too. I like him as a top 9 forward who can move up & down the lineup and play with anyone. Seems low maintenance and plays with hard. Just wish he wasn't injured so often.

And we did slight changes to the system such as we're not 100% dump & chase, just 70% dump & chase. Fabbri scoring in transition is akin to when Vatrano was scoring in transition with Mac last year. I watched Vatrano's 37 goals and most of his ES goals were scoring in transition.

Which is bonkers when you consider how many players on this team are also transition type players. Zegras, Terry, ect... It again highlights the disconnect between the coach and his players.

That's what all of us Duck fans have been saying. Derek Lee wrote an article about the differences when writing about Mac. The Crash the Pond guys also noted it about Mac.

The high end guys we drafted are more finesse than "dump & chase" in Terry, Z, Mac, Cutter, Leo, and Sennecke. Yet, the style that Verbeek wants is "dump & chase". In the 2023 draft, I said that I preferred Leo, but that Fantilli's style of play fits what Verbeek wants. Verbeek is trying to mold high level finesse players into "dump & chase" guys to a fault and is ecstatic about it.
