It's hilarious how butt hurt people still are from Kronwall destroying a player on their favorite team a decade ago.
As for this hit I can't tell anything from that video. Edvinsson is very tall but Ristolainen is pretty tall too. I don't see anything egregious in that clip but it also makes the Zapruder film look hi-def.

It wasn't an ambush hit. SE should have seen him coming and protected himself at the very least.
Clearer video here, still only the one angle. If time skip doesn't work it's at 42 seconds into the video. My take is that it's similar to the Whitecloud hit on Knies, there's enough body contact the league wouldn't do anything about it.

Agreed. Unless there's a better angle showing he got the elbow up it looks like an ok hit.

What am I missing here? Break it down frame by frame and it's a clean, hard hit. (Based on the angle shown in the video). The arms coming up after the hit don't even appear to touch Edvinsson. Is there a better angle because if this is all we're going by, it looks clean and hard.
