That is a bummer. Still is a pretty unique niche to be honest; unfiltered thoughts on all things Kings. Most of the existing blogs are advertiser sponsored and thus follow a more mainstream media sort of path--not a knock, just reality. Be nice to see them pop in and out around here a little bit more too but the profanity filter will get a nice workout if and when they do ;)

Cheers to them for the duration though, didn't realize how much time had already passed since S+S's creation. That's a good run.

The idea for this blog came to me as I grew progressively annoyed with message boards that filtered the message.

Well ****, I wonder who they are talking about. I have no idea.

I'd have the hardest-hitting and most exhaustive blog on the Internet. I'd call it Reclamation Project's Hardest-Hitting And Most Exhaustive Blog On The Internet.

To be honest, I see the advertisers as a detriment. Too much moderation and not enough expression of free thoughts and ideas is what follows. So what if someone offends you? Fire back. People quickly learn which poster's stuff is worth reading and whose stuff is garbage, and ignore the garbage.

Link please, or does it require an invitation? :)

I bet it's very exclusive.

Yep,way more infighting and personal attacks that just get ignored. Talking hockey becomes secondary.

See above. I still read some stuff there from time to time, but there are certain screen names that when I see them I just skip right over whatever is posted.

I think this is the reason why Captain Mittens changes his screen name with such frequency here. ;)

I agree to an extent, but on the internet people just 'fire back' behind their keyboards without any thought. I, for one, don't mind the moderation around here. It keeps the focus on hockey, and not personal vendettas or trolling of other posters.

Yea, we have fun with KC1976 about King, but it's always civil and opposing POV's always make you think. Over somewhere like LGK, I would rarely post because if you made the slightest mistake or had an unpopular opinion, you were thrashed and jumped on by a stack of posters in 10 minutes.

It's nothing against personal expression, but my days are packed and if I had to sift through a bunch of back and forth crap all the time to get decent information and opinion, I would probably go elsewhere. We've got a fantastic community here, I certainly don't take it for granted. The 4Chan days were fun, but those kinds of boards bring out the worst in people.

I'd like to gauge interest on three potential names -

1. **** The Dallas Stars
2. Dude Where's My Avatar?!?
3. If you don't read this blog perma-bans will be handed out.

Hey, if someone wants to edit out the "drive by" posts then have it. I just don't care for the well-thought out posts that make a valid point being edited or deleted no matter how caustic.

Grow a thicker skin. An internet forum on hockey should not be able to damage your pysche no matter what is said.

This is just me, but a few recommendations for you. Over at LGK there are definitely a select few people that are worth reading and I don't always agree with them. Then there are those that I read, because they add levity, and when I am in the mood for that I definitely do not skip over their stuff.

There are others I ignore without the ignore button. I will read their stuff from time to time just to see if they have, IMO, learned something new. I understand the "days being packed" thing, but I think if you continue to read just about everything for a while, you will quickly identify those posters that have something of value to say, and that you might want to read always.

Unpopular opinions are what make these boards go round. Not too many years ago I was pretty much labeled as a Lombardi kool-aid drinker. I preached patience when many were calling for the guy's head. It was often an unpopular opinion, but made for some lively discussions and an exchange of ideas.
