Another broadcasting legend gone. Hard not to think of the Brewers without Uecker.

Also remember him fondly for being repeated celebrity with the then WWF for WrestleMania 3 and 4. As he said it was the only time his option was renewed!

RIP Bob

This one hurts bad. He was the ray of sunshine that would let you know that the long winters were nearing their end. He was the soundtrack of the summer to an entire generation. There were a ton of games that weren't on TV. Day games were the best because we could take an extension cord, plug it in in the garage and run it out to the backyard and listen to Uecker while we played baseball. For night games we would do the same thing until there wasn't enough light left to see.

Thank you, Bob. You made an entire generation of kids in Wisconsin fall in love with baseball. Through the good and (mostly) bad, you were always there. Brewers baseball will never be the same.

Hard to really put into words my sadness on this one. He was the voice of summer here. The voice of my childhood, adolescence, adulthood, etc. I think we all knew it was coming but hasn’t made it easier. Don’t think I’ve ever felt this over a “celebrity” death. Just gutted.

In hindsight it’s clear and been reported that a select group of people knew how bad it had gotten when they lost to the Mets in the playoffs. Lots of tears in that clubhouse. They knew.

Rest in peace, Mr. Baseball
