It was a better team. This team is better defensively for sure but that gap defensively is soooooo much smaller than the gap offensively. That team had a better Nico, better Mercer, better Tatar, better Haula. The depth also had Boqvist, Yegor, the criminal

I’m totally on board with the depth argument and how this team lacks it. Way over correction by Fitz IMO.

I can already think of 4 or 5 guys signed for next year who I never really wanna see again. And I think all of them other than Haula are also signed through 26-27.

Come on. I’m watching this shit in person…almost none of the devils chances felt truly dangerous. You aren’t scoring when you allow the goalie all the time in the world to get set and/or multiple defenders to bare down on you.
