Since it's been 7 years and some people may not be aware, Riley Sheahan scored 2 goals in the Red Wings' last game of the year in 2017.

Normally this isn't noteworthy, but he hadn't scored a goal in the previous 84 games (including 5 playoff games in 2016). In 122-ish shots on goal, and 217-ish shot attempts.

Definitely one of the careers in the NHL

One of the most vanilla players I've ever seen. Nothing sticks out about him at all. Carved out a nice career, but he just always seemed like he was just kinda... there.

I am guessing he was a great locker room guy. He never really did anything all that special and still managed to to play 670 total NHL games. Coaches liked him.

I vaguely remember his name from his time in Buffalo..completely forgot about him until reading this thread though. Best of luck to him with coaching

It's weird because he's retiring at a near .33 clip in terms of points. It never felt like he did anything yet somehow almost amassed 200 points.

Playing in the NHL in an accomplishment so congrats to him for that. But was mostly a warm body/empty sweater for the penguins. Never noticed him at all, good or bad.

Laugh all you want, but Riley was a very good fourth liner his one year in Edmonton and our PK fell apart the moment he left. Good luck to him in retirement.
