Prospect Info: Ridly Greig (LW) 28th Overall

The Pinto Grieg Amadio line has been a revelation. Big reason why the Sens are red hot. Like Amadio, there were long stretches this season where I didn't think Grieg was impacting the game. But over the last few weeks, both have come alive. Pinto as well. That line has gelled so nicely. I hated Amadio in the first half, now I love him lol.

You look at the top 10 picks from Ridleys draft, Alex Holtz, Draysadle, Rossi, Askarove - I’d rather have Ridley then all these guys.

What a stud. Took on the extra minutes left by Norris like a champ - it’s like he’s been in the NHL for 10 seasons
Rossi has been a stud for Minnesota, hard to put Greig ahead of him at this point,

Would you take a 5’08” center over Greig?? Honestly wouldnt do a 1 for 1 - I never would.

I’d like to put Rossi on a line with Amadio and Greig and see his impact when he’s not playing with Kipoozoff and Zuch.

Rossi is a Decent player, not a player id ever draft or build around. To small, to reliant on teammates

Rossi is built like Zetterlund. He’s not easy to push around.

Starting to see what Staios saw when he gave that contract.

I agree with you, but I think we need to consider that it only came out publicly just how high the cap is going to go over the next few years after Greig signed. A lot of people in the original thread were lukewarm on the contract at first, but they weren't judging it with the knowledge that the cap is going to be 104M in year 2, and 113.5M in year 3. Knowing that, this contract is a no brainer, even without his elevated play.

Rossi is a better player than Greig no doubt about it. Great 2 way center who has a good motor. He’s excellent, and that’s no slight on Greig.

I take Rossi over Greig in terms of talent, but Greig is a better fit for what Staios is trying to build. I think Rossi would be an upgrade over Norris if we hadn't acquired Cozens and Cozens is a better fit for us.

Rossi is an absolute stud though and will outscore Greig probably every year of their remaining careers.

I still believe Greig can develop into a top 6 foward-he's still only 22, and he has put up good number every year relative to his age in Juniors+the AHL.
Maybe. Greig is such a smart player that I would not bet against him making top 6 although he is missing higher end offensive skills.

Breakout player on the Sens this season. Consistently top 3 in forward icetime since the new year.

Really impressed with how he has been able to impose his game. Having Brady on his line now could make for a really physical identity line.

I loved that signing when it happened, Grieg is a gamer and that contract is basically a steal

Fools gold to build around a guy the size of Rossi, even Ridly is considered to small to play C for Ottawa.

Greig has led Ottaw forwards in TOI for every game since Norris was traded.

I wouldn’t do a 1 for 1 trade or Rossi for Greig. But the Montreal Canadiens woild and it’s why their franchise is a bunch of cry babies
